House Tour: This 1,200sqf condo apartment in Serangoon looks modern and timeless

Timeless and tranquil, this modern design is exactly what the homeowners had in mind when they approached interior design firm, Arkhilite. To imbue a sense of space, a subtle yet ingenious method was used. "We tiered the height of the ceiling boards; low at the entrance, but gradually higher towards the living room. It creates vertical expansion and hides the aircon coils," says the design team.
As the clients wanted a large and functional dining area, arkhilite proposed reconfiguring the space to include a dry kitchen fronting the dining space. The refrigerator now sits between the wet kitchen and dry kitchen.
Wood veneer in a matte lacquer finish adds warmth to the space, while plasterboarded walls and ceilings (which has detailed grooves that are then clad in textured Japanese wallpaper) add minimalist yet interesting details throughout the space.
EDL's solid core white laminate (with white edges, instead of the standard black) were used for the cabinetry, while the kitchen top and entire backsplash are clad in Caesarstone quartz for durability.
One common bedroom was converted into a wak-in-wardrobe,freeing up the master bedroom to contain only the bed and its elegant headboard.
