The owner of this 680sqf three-room HDB flat in Chinatown wanted the private areas of the home to be made bigger than the original layout, so the interior designer Alex Chang of ID Emboss removed as many walls as possible so as to give the visual illusion of more space.

Every corner was kept to a walnut, black, grey and white palette that pulls this single-space apartment together.

Similar to the previous home in terms of its colour palette and size, nonetheless this HDB flat in Everton Park is much less serious-looking thanks to the creative installations of art and curios.

Belonging to a freelance editor and art director in the media industry, the homeowner wanted "a home that would inspire him", the interior designers from Artistroom demolished the walls of the second bedroom to make way for an open-concept study.

Reworking the bathroom meant that a dedicated vanity area, which bridges the master bedroom to the shower area, was possible.
