House Tours: Two bachelorette pads show you how to do your home as an independent single lady
By Home & Decor Team -
Chris Huang of Bowerman Interior Planner was recruited by this homeowner, a bachelorette in her 30s, to give her 43-year old flat in the Tanjong Rhu area a stylish update. Renovation took three months to complete, and cost $60,000.
A small study nook is created in the niche between her kitchen tabletop and the main entryway. It is a conducive space for doing work, as during the day natural light can stream through the window, while at night she has an overhead lamp for illumination.
Chris designed a sleek open pantry-style kitchen with glossy surfaces.

The second bedroom that the homeowner didn’t need was done away with to make a larger living area. Sunlight from the bedroom windows made the living space brighter than before.

This painting from Ode to Art enlivens the mostly-neutral coloured home with its vivid, impressionistic style.

The bedroom is built like a sanctuary with its wooden-framed folding doors, low bed and wood-tone flooring.

This compact 700sqf loft in Tanjong Pagar belonging to a bachelorette is precisely furnished to the chic red-and-white colour scheme and to reduce clutter in the limited space.
Though floor space is lacking, there is abundant vertical space, which is taken advantage of with a cascading glass chandelier.
The walk-in wardrobe leads to the bathroom, of which blinds were added to the shower stall for added privacy.
