Kismis Ave
Type of Home: Landed
Configuration: 7 Bedroom
Approximate Budget: $180K
M Atelier’s expertise shines through in this semi-detached home, where the firm was engaged from the earliest stages of planning. Collaborating closely with AD Lab, M Atelier brought its design vision into the construction phase, ensuring that each element aligned with the client’s needs and aesthetic goals. This integrated approach not only enhances the design’s cohesiveness but also saves time and costs for the client—a hallmark of M Atelier’s commitment to efficient, thoughtful design solutions.
Designed as a multi-generational home, this project showcases M Atelier’s versatility and attention to detail. Accommodating the couple, their two teenagers, and the elderly mother, M Atelier crafted a layout that balances style with functionality. A wheelchair-accessible ramp at the entrance exemplifies their foresight in accessibility, while the interior’s mixed palette of whites, blacks, and warm woodgrains is thoughtfully contrasted with bright accents and natural stone patterns. The result is a dynamic, visually engaging space that meets the needs of each generation, illustrating M Atelier’s ability to combine aesthetics, practicality, and inclusivity in a seamless, sophisticated design.
Redhill Lane
Type of Home: HDB
Configuration: 3 Rooms (5-room HDB resale)
Approximate Budget: $250K
M Atelier transformed this five-room Redhill Lane resale flat into a spacious, open-concept home for a young family and their helper, carefully balancing functionality with aesthetic appeal. Key changes in layout design, such as opening up a bedroom to create a combined dining and study area, and moving the common bathroom entrance to the service yard for added storage, illustrate M Atelier’s thoughtful approach to flow and usability. Cream and wood tones add warmth to the expansive space, creating a cosy, inviting atmosphere that caters to daily family life.
Unique design elements, such as concealed doors and strategic use of tinted mirrors, reflect M Atelier’s skill in blending form and function. The once-enclosed kitchen now opens up with a wood grain feature that seamlessly hides the helper’s room entrance, while stone accents on the island add a refined touch. In the living room, a feature wall of tinted mirrors and woodgrain cleverly conceals bedroom doors, enhancing the contemporary feel. Embracing the structural wall and beam, M Atelier cladded them in tinted mirrors to transform potential obstacles into striking design features that add depth and continuity to the space.
Orchard Scotts
Type of Home: Condominium
Configuration: 3 rooms + Study
Approximate Budget: $140K
Designed for a couple with a taste for refined luxury, this apartment by M Atelier embodies sophisticated modern elegance through a harmonious blend of matte and glossy finishes, including wood, marble, and tinted glass. M Atelier addressed the home’s layout challenges—particularly the bulky, awkwardly placed columns—by reconfiguring the space for improved flow and functionality. A rich material palette and thoughtfully planned layout bring warmth and upscale ambience, with details like a streamlined wall of storage and concealed lighting behind the television wall adding depth and functionality.
In the dry kitchen, switching to dark-tinted glass panels transformed the area into a bold focal point, while glossy stone tiles on the kitchen island create a stunning centrepiece. M Atelier softened the presence of columns in the dining area with custom half-height drawers below the window, blending storage with design. The compact wet kitchen uses covered storage and a dark monochrome palette, balanced with lighter upper cabinets for a visually spacious feel. The master bathroom boasts a unique corner bathtub, wall-to-wall mirror, and soft sand-toned finishes, creating a serene, airy retreat.
