You must have seen one too many viral Instagram videos of this quaint little hole-in-wall coffee spot in a ground-floor Pasir Ris HDB. Since they shot to viral fame in the Covid-19 years, this home-based coffee business' spirit (and customer following) hasn't been dampened. Home and Decor paid a visit to this HDB home-based business for some updates - years on from the pandemic.
Ground Floor Coffee
Address: Block 214 Pasir Ris Street 21, Singapore 510214
Opening Hours: Refer to brewing schedule on @ground_floor_coffee's IG
Located at Block 214 Pasir Ris Street 21, Ground Floor Coffee is a home-based business by Hasif and his wife Rashidah, both 33. They operate from the window of their ground floor flat, selling a variety of café-style beverages in the likes of their best known Flat White, Vanilla Latte, and Pure Chocolate.
While they use to sell cakes, they're taking a break from food items and are currently only selling beverages.
They're currently looking to expand their food menu, and are experimenting with cake recipes passed down from Hasif's mother-in-law. She used to bake kek gula hangus (caramelised sugar cake) for Ground Floor Coffee, but has since stepped down to look after her health.
Ground Floor Coffee began as a side-hustle during the thick of the pandemic for Hasif and his wife, but they are now running it as a full-time family business. Their opening hours vary daily - you can follow their Instagram here for the latest updates to their brewing schedule. They most commonly open after 9am, and on some days serve up to as late as 8pm.
How to Order
Just head on over to Ground Floor Coffee's website here, and pick a date and time to pick up your order from Ground Floor Coffee. There is no walk-in order, so you have to pre-order and walk up to the window to get your queue number. In the pre-order, you have to pick a time to collect your drink.
There, you can choose between espresso or milk based drinks, or even pre-order some merchandise (you can DM their Instagram account here to get the details). Their merchandise include tumblers, t-shirts, caps, and bags of the beans they use to brew their own coffee. The stock and sale of each merchandise vary, and updates are posted on their Instagram account.
Ground Floor Coffee Menu
Being a home-run business, there are always a bunch of new exciting flavours and limited time specials at Ground Floor Coffee, so be sure to check their website for the latest updates.
They boast 12 espresso-based drinks, with the most popular ones being their Flat White ($6.30), Vannila Latte ($6.50), and Honey Oat Latte ($7.30). As for milk-based drinks, they currently sell 4, with their most popular one being the Pure Chocolate ($6.80). According to Hasif, the Pure Chocolate is well loved among children in the neighbourhood!
If you're unsure of which drink to order, their website includes drink descriptions and tasting notes for the different coffee beans, differentiating between floral and spice undertones.
When ordering, you can choose between iced or hot drinks, and whether you prefer regular, oat, or in some cases even coconut milk. Then, when you're done with your order, you submit your email and phone number, and pay by PayNow or a bank transfer.
The website is easy to navigate, and ordering was hassle-free and quick.

Origins of Ground Floor Coffee
During the pandemic, home-based businesses began gaining traction, and Ground Floor Coffee was no different. Opened officially in 2022 June, Ground Floor Coffee actually began planning since late 2021, when Covid-19 restrictions were tumultuous but just beginning to lift.
What set Ground Floor Coffee apart, however, was Hasif's personal touch. He insists (and still does!) on handing over each cup of coffee to his customers personally. His neighbours enjoy the coffee, and with Hasif's open and friendly vibe, it embodies the term kampong spirit.
Previously a freelance photographer, Hasif's interest in coffee stemmed from café-hopping with his wife, where he appreciated the unique coffee blends he tasted from café to café. He began to brew coffee at home with his daughter as bonding time, and filmed videos of their brews to post on social media for fun.
The idea of opening a business only came into mind one morning when Hasif saw some young adults chilling outside his ground-floor unit in Pasir Ris, and he thought about opening his window and offering some coffee. That was the spark that began the concept of Ground Floor Coffee, and prompted its journey into the beloved home-based business we all know today.
The home-based coffee business may have full-time opening hours and their very own merchandise, but Hasif still aspires to operate a standalone brick and mortar shopfront for his café coffee joint one day.
