A massive new urban oasis is officially on its way to the city-state. Therme Group, a leading global developer and operator of large-scale wellbeing destinations, has broken ground on Therme Singapore. The state-of-the-art development is slated to open in 2030 at a prime waterfront location in Marina South.
The groundbreaking ceremony was officiated by Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, Grace Fu.
Spanning a massive 720,000 square feet of gross floor area—equivalent to more than nine football fields—this 7-storey development (with a basement) marks Therme Group’s first foray into Asia. It is envisioned as a deeply inclusive “social infrastructure” designed to make wellness an everyday, accessible, and joyful experience for everyone, rather than a luxury reserved for a privileged few.
Once fully operational, the urban resort is projected to welcome approximately 2 million visitors annually, with about half expected to be international tourists.

The experience will be highly digitized, utilising waterproof RFID wristbands for cashless payments and locker access, alongside a next-generation robotic locker system to maximise convenience.
Outside the building, Therme will build a sprawling 4-hectare coastal public park that connects the development directly to Marina Barrage, adding an extra 350,000 tropical plants and 650 trees to the waterfront district.

Therme Singapore will be located on a 4-hectare waterfront site at Marina South Coastal, right next to Marina Barrage and Gardens by the Bay. The site sits alongside other iconic Singapore landmarks like Marina Bay Sands. It has been deliberately chosen to be centrally located and highly connected by public transport to ensure easy everyday access for residents.
