1) Resort-style bathroom
The simple use of wood fittings can give your small bathroom a resort feel. Not only does it look good, the extra space created is a great storage option.
2) Keep your exposed pipes
The exposed pipes, painted black, turn into a feature with this matching wash-basin for a great industrial-style bathroom. But if industrial is not your thing, make use of some wood elements, like the frame around the mirror to soften the look.
3) Soak-tub, not bathtub
You don't need a large bathroom to have your own tub. Much like the Japanese-style tubs, soak tubs are shorter in length but are much deeper. They are great for small bathroom owners who don't want to compromise the space but would like to relax in a tub.
4) Mirrors, mirrors, everywhere
This might look ordinary, but if you're faced with a really small bathroom, full-length mirrors make a world of a difference. Not only does the reflective surface brighten your bathroom, it adds to the illusion of space!
5) Make use of the right accessories

6) The open concept bathroom
Take a leaf from hotel rooms, most have a glass doors straight into the shower which not only saves space, but looks really good as well. Perfect for small homes with even smaller master bedrooms, these bathrooms are definitely not for the shy.
7) Knock down adjoining walls
When all else fails, and you realise you need more space, knock down the adjoining walls between the two connecting bathrooms of a HDB to create one large one. In this owner's case, the large PVC pipes act as a visual divider between the toilet bowl and shower area.
