A Scandinavian-style room using a soft and elegant colour palette

What: 11 Howard, a 221-room boutique hotel, designed by Danish studio Space Copenhagen

Where: SoHo, New York

Why we love it: The light colour palette, paired with variations of wood and warm metals embody the Scandinavian look perfectly - thanks to Space Copenhagen, whose signature look is often described as "new-Nordic minimalism".

The room dons a grey-cream colour scheme, but uses dark blue and pink for colour-blocking.

If you're not into warmer colours such as yellow or red, opt for warm metals such as copper or brass - these add warmth to a space just as well!

The hotel used natural materials such as marble and wood.

Gold and marble adds pizzazz to the otherwise simple and cosy interior.
