Warm Embrace
Having a small space doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice comfort. Designed by Oki Sato of Nendo and presented by Stellar Works during DESIGNART Tokyo this year, the Kite armchair’s star feature is a large backrest that cocoons the user, offering comfort and security without taking up much room. It’s independent of the seat, too, so you mix and match the depth of the seat and height of the backrest for a custom combination that suits your space.
The Kite armchair is available at www.p5studio.com.sg, price upon request.

Power Pose
Inspired by the bull, the Toro dining chair features sculptured arms that symbolise the horns, while its subtle sheen calls to mind the animal's glossy hide. The A-frame of the back legs, too, creates a stance reminiscent of a bull posed to charge. "With this chair I decided to create something that represents aspects of my character both physically and physiologically," says creative director of OKHA Adam Court, who is a Taurean himself.
The Toro chair retails from £1,230 (S$2,197) at www.okha.com and www.myaffluency.com.

Let There Be Light
Statement lighting doesn’t have to be over-the-top. Created by leather expert Bill Amberg, the Loom Collection features organic, minimalist silhouettes wrapped in woven leather. This creates a shadowplay as the LED shines through the gaps in the leather, which can be knotted by hand or woven with traditional leather looms from northern Italy. “We wanted to create something different, where the light source and the leather work together to complement and enhance each other. The lights give off a mesmerising light, a modern dappled shade created by the leatherwork,” says Bill.
The Loom Collection retails from £815 (S$1,455) at www.billamberg.com.

Merry and Bright
Set the mood for the festive season with the right scent. The Durance 2020 Christmas collection features four different fragrances ranging from Starry Amber, which contains earthy and musky notes reminiscent of Christmas log fires, to Royal Blackcurrant, a yummy scent with fruity notes that brings to mind freshly baked pies. The collection includes reed diffusers, room sprays, crackling wick candles, and single wick candles – and they’re a feast for the eyes, too, with their art deco designs embossed in gold.
The Durance 2020 Christmas collection retails from $34.90 at the Tangs department store and the official Durance Lazada store.
