6 new furniture stores to shop at, whether for local, European or American furniture brands

Four-year old local furniture store Made & Make has moved into a large showroom to showcase its range of Nordic-style pieces from brandes like Wendelbo, Lambert and Fils, RUBN, &tradition, as well as local designer brand Jottergoods.
Perfect even for small apartments, the DCW Surpil chairs, designed by French designer Julien- Henri Porche, come with powder-coated steel frames with seats of contrasting colours like natural or stain walnut, and stainless steel. More information about the store here.
Popular American furniture chain store Ashley Furniture HomeStore has opened its first outlet in Singapore. The 7,000 sqf flagship store, on the ground floor of North East Building in Kallang Way, is home to items from five lifestyle collections: Vintage Casual, Urbanology, Contemporary Living, New Traditions and Family Spaces. They range from beds and sofas to vases and clocks, with prices ranging from $69 for a vase to $999 for a sofa.

Following the success of its flagship outlet in Mohamed Sultan Road, luxury furniture brand P5 launched P5 Studio – a two-storey showroom housing international global brands including Sancal from Spain, Maiori Design from France, Saba Italia from Italy, and Stellar Works from China.
The showroom is also the flagship gallery for the six-year-old Stellar Works. The Shanghai-based design brand, headed by founder and CEO Yuichiro Hori from Japan, aims to create products with East-meets-West aesthetics. More information about the store here.
At the third superstore by Australian retail chain Harvey Norman, located at Yishun's Northpoint City, you'll find all your electrical, IT, furniture and bedding needs. Expect designed and made in Italy and Germany furniture, and also brands exclusive to Harvey Norman stores such as ALF, Saporini, Stellani and Oliver B. More information here.
Occupying a 4,500sqf space on the eighth floor, the Prestige Furniture showroom displays furniture and accessories from a mix of known and lesser-known European brands, such as Belgian mirror makers Deknudt and Italian heritage ceramists Bitossi Ceramiche.
Interesting pieces include Italian brand Lago’s floating series, which includes the Fluttua bed and Air collection. Besides free consultation services, Prestige has an in-house display artist to provide home styling.
In collaboration with local retailer Grafunkt, Vitra’s newly opened 2,000sqf store offer easy visualisation of what Vitra’s latest collection — including iconic armchairs and sofas designed by renowned designers and architects such Antonio Citterio, George Nelson and Jay Osgerby — will look like at home.
Vitra by Grafunkt carries stationery, clocks, wall shelves, lighting fixtures and even quirky figurines from an elephant-inspired seat by Charles and Ray Eames, to the L’Oiseau birdshaped figurine.
