10 Best Dehumidifiers in Singapore (2025)
Best dehumidifiers for combatting mould, odours, dampness and freshening the air in sultry Singapore homes
By Gwyneth Goh -
I don’t know about you, but every mid-year, the heat and humidity in this part of the world makes me feel like I’m living (trapped) inside a sauna—minus the spa towels. When the air is this soggy, opening the windows doesn’t really help either—it just lets the damp in. That’s when dehumidifiers come into play. A good dehumidifier can actually make your home feel cooler and more comfortable (think fresh and dry), even if it doesn’t directly lower the temperature.
If you live near a reservoir, canal, forest, or even just have your unit facing west, a dehumidifier is a must-have. It prevents mould (which alone is a huge win), dust mites, and that sticky, clammy feeling that you get in the muggy afternoons. For those searching “dehumidifier in Chinese (除湿机)”, just be careful—Taobao models may come with incompatible voltages or plugs. Singapore homes run on 230V/50Hz while China homes use 220V/50Hz, which is not a big problem since that’s a very slight voltage difference at the same frequency, but Chinese sockets use different plug types so you’ll definitely need a plug adapter.

Xiaomi Smart Dehumidifier Lite (13 L), $199
Best compact smart dehumidifier for bedrooms
As an unabashed Xiaomi fan, I would cast a vote for this little beauty despite never having used it—most simply because no Xiaomi product I’ve ever bought has been disappointing. Smart control is where Xiaomi really shines. Through the Mi Home (now Xiaomi Home) app, you can schedule dehumidifying times, set desired humidity levels, or switch modes without even getting up from the couch. It also supports Google and Alexa, though I’d personally just stick with the app.
This compact unit removes up to 13 litres of moisture per day, which makes it ideal for smaller rooms up to around 20–25 m². It comes with a 3-litre water tank that’s easy to slide out and empty, but it also supports continuous drainage via an included hose, which would eliminate the need for constant monitoring and emptying.
Noise levels are low—it uses “7 noise cancellation optimisations” to run at under 38 dB, which means it won’t keep you up at night. There’s also a Smart Mode that uses its built-in humidity sensor to regulate operations depending on your desired humidity level and the room’s conditions. There’s also a Clothes Drying Mode that promises to quickly dehumidify and dry clothes without damaging the fabric.
Design-wise, it’s ultra minimalist and modern, typical of Xiaomi products. The matte white exterior won’t stand out or clash with any decor, and it has a small digital readout showing current humidity. In terms of energy usage, it’s fairly modest at 190 watts, so I wouldn’t worry about running it a few hours a day even with rising utility bills (you really only need a few hours a day to combat mould and keep things fresh around the house).
If you’re looking for a fuss-free, affordable way to combat indoor humidity—especially in bedrooms or home offices—this Xiaomi Lite model is an absolute steal.
The Xiaomi Smart Dehumidifier Lite is priced at $199 from Mi Store Singapore.
LG 30L Dual-Inverter Dehumidifier MD19GQGA1, $699
Best dehumidifier with ioniser for 3-room HDB flats or 2-bedroom apartments
When it comes to powerful, large-capacity dehumidifiers, the LG Dual-Inverter MD19GQGA1 has become one of the most trusted models in Singapore—and for good reason. This thoughtfully-designed unit extracts up to 30 litres of moisture per day—which LG informs is “equivalent to 120 pieces of 250ml bottles”. This makes it suitable for homes up to 850 sq ft or anyone battling persistent dampness—the perfect dehumidifier for a 3-room HDB flat or two-bedroom condo, depending on your layout and indoor humidity.
It’s definitely purposed and equipped for dehumidifying large living rooms, basements, or open-plan apartments. What’s most impressive is its dual inverter compressor—not only does it dry the air faster, but it also uses less energy than traditional models (some say up to 50%!) and makes less noise (supposedly up to 20%). Even in High Mode, the noise level stays under 39 dB, which is astonishing for a machine this powerful. This means you can run it while watching TV or taking work calls without any issue.
Its 5.3-litre water tank is one of the larger ones on the market, which means making fewer trips to empty it. If you don’t want to bother at all, there’s a continuous drainage option too. There’s also a laundry drying mode (which many reviewers praise), and the included Closet Dry T-hose and Shoe Dry Y-hose specifically designed for drying narrow closets and shoes.
There’s also the Air Cleaner which releases nano ions to remove harmful substances such as airborne bacteria (essentially an ioniser), which is a great plus for allergy-prone users. Electricity wise—an annual energy consumption of 131 kWh implies it should add less than $100 to your yearly electrical bill (depending on your energy cost and usage, of course).
Design-wise, I doubt this will win any beauty pageants, but it’s still relatively unobtrusive. It’s pretty chunky though, weighing in at 16.7 kg and measuring 29.6 cm x 41.5 cm x 68.5 cm—fortunately it runs on castor wheels, so that will help when you need to move it. Oh, it’s also easily managed via the ThinQ app, and comes with a ten-year warranty for peace of mind.
If this powerhouse suits your home size and you’re looking for a sturdy dehumidifier-cum-ioniser, wait no longer—quite a few reviewers mention wishing they had gotten theirs sooner!
The LG 30L Dual-Inverter Dehumidifier MD19GQGA1 is priced at $699 from Courts.
Sterra Sun Dehumidifier, $349
Best dehumidifier with HEPA air purification for small to mid-sized bedrooms
If ionisers are not for you, and you’re looking to dehumidify while cleaning the air in your bedroom, the Sterra Sun Dehumidifier might be worth considering. I’m personally not one for ionising, ever since learning that ionisers produce ozone as a byproduct at levels which can be detrimental to human health (come on, why would anyone want to create more ozone?!) Don’t want to sound like a conspiracy theorist, since the rest of the world seems to be happily ionising, but I’m sticking to filters.
The Sterra Sun is a rare hybrid with a reasonable price tag: a 12 L/day dehumidifier paired with a HEPA-11 filter, making it one of the few units in Singapore that actively reduces both humidity and airborne particles. It’s locally designed for tackling our tropical humidity (#supportlocal) and made in China (but what isn’t these days?). HEPA-11 filters remove typically 95% of particles as small as 0.3 microns (such as dust, pollen, and pet dander) and the Sterra Sun has a CADR of 60m3/hr which should work adequately for small to medium-sized bedrooms (around 30 m²).
This has a 3.2 L tank capacity and auto shut-off function to prevent overflow, as well as the drain hose option so you don’t need to worry at all about emptying the tank. Noise level is not a deal breaker, with a maximum of 45 dB—comparable to light rain. There are four humidity settings (so the compressor shuts down after achieving your desired humidity level), a programmable timer, child lock, and app control for an improved user experience.
It’s 12 kg and has wheels, looks sleek and would fit in at any minimalist home. Energy-wise, 228 W is nothing to shout about, but remember it’s an air purifier too. Verdict: If you’re looking for an efficient dehumidifier in Singapore that also purifies your air, the Sterra Sun delivers both performance and practical design.
The Sterra Sun dehumidifier is priced at $349 from Sterra, but you can enjoy discounts when buying 2 or 3 pieces.
Novita ND25 Dehumidifier, $499
Best dehumidifier for everyday humidity control in medium-sized homes
Another Singaporean brand with made-in-China products, home-grown Novita’s ND25 is a strong contender in the mid-sized powerhouse weight class. While still pretty big, it’s lighter and slimmer than the LG 30 L at 14.3 kg and 36 cm x 20 cm x 58.5 cm. This is the one I use in my bedrooms so I might be slightly biased—it’s served me well for over 3 years and still duly does its job of fighting mould for my family every day, aside from that one time it took MC and went back to Novita for repair (while still under warranty phew).
When we first moved into an apartment on the ground floor, I didn’t think much of the humidity. But one fine day, I started noticing tiny black “spots” crawling on my dining room walls. Booklice—those were, signifying a hellish problem in our home—MOULD, which I started finding on more walls than one once I started looking closely, That’s when we called the professional mould control guys in and they told me I needed to get a dehumidifier. And that’s when I started researching the best dehumidifier in Singapore—and the Novita ND25 kept popping up.
This model is a sweet spot for mid-sized spaces. It pulls up to 25 litres of moisture from the air each day, which makes it powerful enough for typical bedrooms, living rooms, and even larger spaces like hallways or open kitchens. And despite that capability, it doesn’t take up too much space or power. It tucks neatly in a corner, and the 5-litre water tank lasts long enough so that I don’t have to empty it constantly—unless I’m using it to dry clothes indoors (which it’s surprisingly good at, by the way).
Laundry mode is actually one of the biggest reasons I’d recommend this. With Singapore’s perennial rain and limited balcony space, this setting really speeds up indoor drying while preventing that gross damp smell. It also has auto humidity sensors and an anion generator (which I don’t use, because ozone), so it’s not just taking moisture out—it can freshen up the air too.
I like that the control panel is intuitive. There are settings for humidity level, timer, and fan speed, and it even has a child safety lock, which gives peace of mind when you have little kids running around like mine. There’s the continuous drainage option too, so if you’re parking it near a bathroom or utility area, you can let it run non-stop.
Noise-wise, it hums—not completely silent, but quiet enough that it doesn’t disrupt conversations or sleep. Compared to bulkier models I’ve seen, it’s much easier to live with on a daily basis. Energy-wise, 245 W doesn’t exactly scream low, but this hasn’t prevented Novita from marketing the ND25 as “THE MOST ECONOMICAL DEHUMIDIFIER EVER!” Personally, I haven’t noticed that it’s done anything terrible to my electrical bills—but maybe I’m already numbed to it.
Jokes aside, in all honesty, if you’re living in a flat or condo with regular humidity issues, or just want to keep your wardrobe, walls and bedding fresh and mould-free, the Novita ND25 is probably one of the best dehumidifiers in Singapore right now for its price point and feature set. It’s practical, well-built, and backed by a local brand that’s been around for years (#supportlocal). If anything goes wrong, at least you know where to find them.
The Novita ND25 Dehumidifier is priced at $499 from Novita.
Philips 5000 Series 2-in-1 Dehumidifier & Air Purifier DE5205/30, $619
Best hybrid dehumidifier and air purifier for 4-room HDB flats
If you’re looking for a dehumidifier that also seriously air purifies (not just in a “by the way” fashion), the Philips 5000 Series 2 in 1 Dehumidifier & Air Purifier is probably one of the best dehumidifier and purifier hybrid models on the market now.
With a dehumidification capacity of 25 L/day, it flap down dampness quickly—perfect for humid Singapore afternoons. It boasts 5 fan speeds and automatic settings, claiming to effectively dehumidify up to 104 m² rooms, which is pretty much your whole 4-room HDB flat.
There’s the laundry mode, which has received favourable reviews, and there are also preset humidity settings (40–80%), which automatically helps maintain optimal comfort without needing constant adjustments.
The purifying side is equally impressive. With a CADR of 270 m³/h and HEPA + pre-filter system that captures particles as tiny as 0.02 micron (smaller than the usual 0.3 micron standard), you can rest protected from the PM2.5, bacteria, virus, pollen, dust, pet dander, gas and other pollutants. It also uses something called VitaShield technology which has been independently tested to remove 99.9% of airborne bacteria, viruses and aerosols from the air—that’s pretty amazing.
Controls are intuitive: a real-time digital display tracks both humidity and air quality, and modes like Auto, Continuous Dry, Laundry Dry, and Purifier-Only adapt performance seamlessly. With a max power draw of 355 W, it’s efficient enough for daily use even on extended cycles—because don’t forget, this one unit is serving the entire house.
It’s a sizable unit (weight: 14.34 kg) but rolls thanks to its wheels, and has thoughtful safety features like a child lock and filter/tank alerts. Built with durability in mind, Philips subjects it to over 170 quality tests—so this feels like an appliance made to last. The two downsides I see are noise and tank-sized related—quite a number of users have complained about it being loud even at the lowest setting, and a 4-litre tank serving an entire apartment could require frequent emptying, although this is easily solved with the drain hose.
All up, if you’re searching for a premium dehumidifier in Singapore that doubles as an air purifier, the Philips 5000 Series strikes a well-balanced mix of power, intelligence, and convenience. It’s the perfect size and capacity for large living rooms, wet laundry spaces, larger bedrooms and up to 1100 sq ft apartments.
The Philips 5000 Series 2 in 1 Dehumidifier & Air Purifier DE5205/ 30 is priced at $619 on Amazon.sg, substantially cheaper than $734 from Philips Singapore at the time of writing.
Mistral 10L Dehumidifier with Ioniser and UV MDH1022, $269
Best value dehumidifier for bedrooms and large bathrooms
This cute little Mistral is comparable with the Xiaomi Smart Dehumidifier Lite (13 L), but you’re paying about $70 more for the ioniser and UV function. It’s lightweight (8 kg compared to the Xiaomi’s 11.1 kg) and has a compact footprint—just 27 cm × 20.5 cm × 40.55 cm (compared to Xiaomi’s 29 cm x 52 cm)—and surprisingly sleek design, yet it still delivers serious performance for smaller homes. Rated to extract 10 L/day of moisture (at 30 °C, 80% RH), it’s more than capable for rooms up to 20–30 m². It’s also not super loud at around 42 dB.
One of the standout features is its 4-mode operation: the “Handsfree” setting maintains humidity between 50–70%, while “Laundry” maximises extraction for indoor drying, “Everyday” gives custom control, and there’s even a fan-only mode for air circulation. For such a small package, it also surprises with its built-in UV steriliser and ioniser, plus an activated-carbon filter, which together help sanitise the air while controlling moisture—fantastic for keeping things clean and dry around the bathroom.
The 2.2 L tank is easy to remove and clean, and it shuts off automatically when full to prevent spills. If you’d rather fix-and-forget, there’s a drainage hose for continuous outflow too. Power-wise, this operates on about 245 W, but nobody’s making any claims about energy efficiency here.
Users have praised it for its easy portability (with a built-in handle and caster wheels), quiet operation, and effective moisture removal—especially in smaller spaces. My only minor quibble would be the lack of adjustable airflow direction, which matters if you’re drying laundry—but otherwise, this is a solid daily performer.
The Mistral 10L Dehumidifier with Ioniser and UV MDH1022 is priced at $269 on Amazon.sg.
Deerma Mini Dehumidifier DEM-CS50M, $43.90
Best mini portable unplugged dehumidifier for wardrobes, closets and small bathrooms
Some spaces are just too small to be running those electric dehumidifiers for—like my (non-walk-in) wardrobe for instance, or our small guest powder room with no windows. Yet these are spaces that really, really need dehumidifying—ask any woman who’s ever found mould on her favourite (but forgotten) leather bags. Or maybe it’s your leather shoes that are under attack in the shoe closet, or those precious DSLR cameras that don’t seem to get much use these days with mobile phone cameras in play.
Introducing… one petite lifesaver that’s surprisingly effective for its size. The Deerma DEM-CS50M is basically an upgraded version of the CS10M, and like many Singapore users on forums and reviews, I grabbed it to protect my wardrobe from that musty smell and occasional specks of mould on my beloved leather bags—better than buying Hungry Hippo after Hungry Hippo after Hungry Hippo.
How it works: using non-toxic dehydrated silica or “polymer magic water-absorbing beads” as a dessicant, for dehumidifying the air around it, the Deerma Mini Dehumidifier dehumidifies an area up to 5 m². It has a visualisation window that shows you at a glance which stage of dehumidification it’s at. Orange means the beads are dry and ready to go, and dark green means they’re fully saturated and need to be recharged (or reenergised for 12-15 hours).
Measuring 20.6 cm long with a 7.5 cm diameter, it’s barely bigger than a mobile phone and doesn’t need recharging as often. It’s designed to be cordless and reusable—just pop it into a power socket when the beads turn green and let it dry out for half a day. The beads turn back to orange, and it’s good to go again.
This is reusable, environmentally friendly, convenient and seems to work well enough (the visual colour-changing cues sure help). I also like the 360° air intake design, which means you can place it upright in tight spaces—perfect for inside wardrobes, shoe cabinets, bookshelves, or drawers. You don’t need to worry about spills (unlike those hippos) or electricity either, since it operates passively.
No filters, no noise, no running costs—just a small upfront cost and the peace of mind knowing your expensive clothes and bags are protected. Definitely a top pick for anyone in Singapore looking to keep humidity out of their storage areas.
The Deerma Mini Dehumidifier DEM-CS50M is priced at $43.90 on Shopee.
KKPL Dehumidifier Humi Rod, from $70.85
Best plugged-in dehumidifier rod for wardrobes and enclosed spaces
Short for ‘Koncept Kreation Private Limited’, KKPL is a local company specialising in industrial and furniture hardware products. If you’re searching for an electrical dehumidifier for wardrobe or cabinet use, the KKPL Humi Rod is one of the most fuss-free and highly rated solutions around. Rather than drawing moisture from the air in large volumes, this slim heat rod gently warms small, sealed spaces (think wardrobes, safes, wine cabinets) to prevent moisture retention and mould from forming.
It operates continuously and silently once plugged into a standard 220 V outlet, using 9–32 W, depending on the rod length (30 cm – 90 cm). An internal thermostat prevents overheating—cutting power once it reaches 60°C—ensuring protection for your clothes, accessories, leather good and electronics, etc.
This is a 100% maintenance-free device—no refills, filters, or cumbersome water tanks. You can simply tuck it into any wardrobe or storage unit and forget about it. According to many local users, it’s a smart addition to any wardrobe care routine to protect your valuable items from dampness and odours.
Prices range from S$70.85 for a 30 cm rod to S$109 for a 90 cm rod, and you can pick the length that fits your space. Overall, if you want a small, quiet, and effective solution to mould-proof your enclosed spaces, the KKPL Humi Rod is one of the best choices in Singapore for its simplicity and maintenance-free design.
The KKPL Dehumidifier Humi Rod is priced from $70.85 at KKPL.
Midea 12L Dehumidifier MDDQ1-12DEN7, $210
Best HEPA 13 Dehumidifier for bedrooms and studio apartments
The Midea 12L Dehumidifier MDDQ1-12DEN7 is a bit of a gem because It’s so rare to find a HEPA 13 filter in a dehumidifier, especially at this price range! Short for “High-Efficiency Particulate Air” filter, HEPA is the current gold standard for air purifier filters, and a HEPA grade of H13 is second only to H14—both considered medical-grade. A HEPA grade of H13 can remove 99.95% of all particles in the air measuring 0.2 microns in diameter, while a HEPA grade H14 removes 99.995%.
On top of the HEPA filter which tackles a wide range of contaminants such as dust, pollen, mould spores, pet dander, and even some bacteria and viruses, this 12 L/day dehumidifier even has UV-C bulbs and an ioniser to help with airborne pathogens—all in a single compact unit.
Despite all that tech, it’s still small enough to tuck into a wardrobe or keep beside your bed. The sound levels hover between 39–42 dB, making it quiet enough for nighttime use. A smart health light indicator shows humidity levels and air quality status, and despite the 3L water tank, this can be plugged in a drainage hose. Rated at around 350 W in dehumidify mode and less in purifier mode, the power draw is not the worst, and you probably won’t notice it in your bills.
Covering around 35m², this will serve any bedroom or small studio apartment well. The main draw here is the air sanitisation, of course, and I’d readily recommend this for anyone with respiratory sensitivities, children, or the elderly.
The Midea 12L Dehumidifier MDDQ1-12DEN7 is priced at $210 from Lazada.
Xiaomi Smart Dehumidifier 50L, $520
Best large-capacity smart dehumidifier for large living rooms, basements, and 4-room HDB flats
To be very honest, I tried hard to find a Frigidaire dehumidifier after falling in love at first sight with its name… but there appears to be no reliable Frigidaire stockists here in Singapore. Then I searched for a Honeywell dehumidifier (because I do like American brands) but also failed to find one—but I guess on some level, I wasn’t quite ready to think in terms of gallons and pints either. Next, I googled “Dyson dehumidifier” only to be disappointed they don’t make dehumidifiers, only humidifiers!
So, this seems to be the largest dehumidifier I can find that looks good—yay, Xiaomi—and trusty enough to be featuring.
Rated to remove 50 litres of moisture per day (about 100 bottles of mineral water—shocking), it easily handles entire flats up to 100 m², instantly making the air feel cooler and less muggy. A standout feature is its 7-litre tank with easy-rolling wheels. When the tank is full, it will alert you while shutting off to avoid spillage. For longer use, of course, you should just attach the included drain hose and let it discharge continuously without interruption.
Smart controls are a breeze as usual via the Xiaomi Home app. You can set target humidity levels, schedule runs, choose between Smart Mode, Drying Mode, and Sleep Mode, or even automate based on room conditions. It also has an antibacterial filter, ioniser and deep UV lamp for air sanitisation.
Performance-wise, this unit uses 550 W nominally, peaking around 770 W (but we already knew it’s a 50L monster). It operates at up to 46 dB, which sounds like a comfortable hum within a larger living space. What I’d really like to try is its Drying Mode, which promises to speed dry clothes like the sun!
The Xiaomi Smart Dehumidifier 50L is priced at $520 from Shopee.
Dehumidifier vs Humidifier
Honestly, if you live in Singapore, the humidifier is something you will never in a billion years need. Okay, it’s true—some people need It for respiratory issues or dry skin, and perhaps it can be useful if you live in permanent air conditioning, but beware the mould and mildew!
For context, the ideal indoor relative humidity (RH) level for humans, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is generally between 30% and 50%. In Singapore—get this—the mean annual relative humidity is around 82%, and relative humidity frequently reaches 100% during prolonged periods of rain!
And that is why we need dehumidifiers in Singapore.
How to Choose a Dehumidifier
Before diving into the top picks, here’s what really matters when weighing up your dehumidifier options:
Water Tank Size and Placement: Go for at least a 4 litre tank, so that you don’t have to constantly be emptying your dehumidifier tank—or better yet, continuous drainage—so you’re not wielding a bucket five times a day. Note that continuous drainage means your dehumidifier will be connected to a drain hose, and that drain hose will need to be directed into a sink or drain, which means your dehumidifier will need to be positioned near a bathroom or kitchen. It also needs to be somewhat elevated so that water can easily flow down and out through the hose.
Capacity vs Room Size: Given Singapore’s 82% mean annual relative humidity level, it is recommended to choose the largest dehumidifier for your space. For standard bedrooms in Singapore (under 300 sq ft), you’d be looking for units with extraction rates of 10 L/day to 15 L/day. For master bedrooms, kitchens or living rooms (under 700 sq ft), you’d want something more powerful at perhaps 17 L/day to 28 L/day, and up to 30 L/day and 40 L/day for larger living spaces.
Noise Levels: Check out the dehumidifier’s decibel level, because if you’re planning to use this in the bedrooms, anything producing over 45 dB is usually too loud for sleep.
Portability: If you need to move the dehumidifier between rooms, consider its weight and portability, and perhaps look for one that has wheels.
Energy Efficiency: Look for the ENERGY STAR label, indicating that the dehumidifier is energy efficient and can help lower your energy costs. Dehumidifiers can use up to 700 watts—but inverter dehumidifiers (which adjust their cooling and airflow based on the humidity level) may be gentler on your electrical bills than traditional, twin-core or fixed speed dehumidifiers.
Filter: Dehumidifiers with removable and washable air filters can help remove dust and allergens from the air, so these are a big plus in my books.
Key Features: Common dehumidifier features include Auto-Humidity (where the dehumidifier automatically turns on or off to maintain you desired humidity level), Continuous Drainage (as earlier mentioned), Timer and electronic controls (for ease of operation), Water Level Indicator (so you know when the tank is full) and an easy-to-empty tank (armed with an ergonomic handle for instance)
Extra Functions: Some extra functions might come in handy, but definitely add to the cost of yiur dehumidifier, so decide what you need and don’t, E.g. Laundry mode (for monsoon season indoor clothes-drying), Air purifier 2-in-1 combos, or wardrobe models (designed for clothing or shoe closets)
