One brand I would not be able to live without in my kitchen? Without thinking twice about it, it would be my beloved Le Creuset.

Owning many of the best Le Creuset items, especially their signature cookware dishes, like the Le Creuset pot and even the Le Creuset mug range, I could never turn back.

Le Creuset cast iron is iconic, too, and so much of its cookware is favored by professional chefs. If you ever watch Jamie Oliver in the kitchen, he’s using Le Creuset. Founded in 1925, there’s a reason why the French brand is so popular. Apart from its lifetime warranty on most items, the kitchen products cook like a bomb, and keep really well. None of my Le Creuset cookware has ever rusted, cracked, or lost its enamel finishing — ever. Its enameled cast iron is, in fact, chip-resistant.

Another major selling point for me is that the dishes are so beautiful, you can serve them straight onto the table during a dinner party — which I do all the time. Available in so many gorgeous colours, there’s something for all tastes, whether you’re more classic, outgoing, or following a specific colour theme. Le Creuset cast iron is also designed to retain heat, so your food stays warm whilst it’s sitting on the table in the dish.

Yes, they are on the pricey side, but the money is worth it. I’ve had some of my Le Creuset cookware for over five years. They’ve lasted longer than some other brand pots or pans purchased one year ago. However, you can also always look out for a Le Creuset sale, where prices get marked down to nearly half price. Without further ado, here are the 10 most popular and best Le Creuset items in Singapore.

Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Signature Round Dutch Oven, $369

My Le Creuset Dutch Oven is one of the most-used cookware items in my kitchen. I love making soups and broths, so the Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Signature Round Dutch Oven is my ultimate companion. (It’s similar to Le Creuset’s French Oven, but the Dutch oven is the OG best-seller.)

I’ll start by caramelising my bones (removing them) and then browning my veg all in the same pot for incredible depth of flavour. Thanks to the enameled cast iron pot bottom, nothing burns, and it’s easy to get rid of any extra bits by deglazing the pot with a bit of rice wine vinegar, for example.

(I also use the Le Creuset Pots and Pan Cleaner to give my most treasured cookware an extra cleaning shine.) It is dishwasher-safe, however, I prefer not to put a single one of my best Le Creuset items in the dishwasher. But that’s a personal preference.

Available in Le Creuset’s signature colour (cerise red), it holds a capacity of 1.8 litres. I also appreciate the fact that I can use this pot on both the stovetop (gas or induction) and in the oven! Winner winner, chicken dinner.

Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Signature Braiser, $439

(Original price $544, 19% discount)

It’s a hard toss between my Dutch oven and the Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Signature Braiser. Honestly speaking, I think this is my best Le Creuset item out of the entire collection. I use it the most in my cooking, and for multiple reasons.

Like all Le Creuset products, nothing ever burns or sticks. Completely constructed from cast iron, it just creates a beautiful cook, whether it’s meat or vegetables. Naturally, it’s excellent for braising and searing meats.

I make sauces in here, too, for example, a yummy gorgonzola sauce, later tossing in gnocchi or pasta all into the braiser. The dish can go straight from the stove into the oven.

Specs-wise, it accommodates 3.5 litres of liquid. I also love how large the circumference is, so nothing feels too squished. I sometimes cook prawns in the braiser if I’m making a lot of them, because there really is so much space.

Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Alpine Wood Handle Fry Pan, 10.25”, White, $329

Any foodie, like myself, will agree: every pot and pan has its place in the kitchen.

The Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron pan is my go-to for meats such as lamb and beef. For softer meats, like chicken, I prefer using the Le Creuset braiser. But I find that lamb, beef, etc., is a little tougher, so the enameled cast iron pan works with these kinds of meat. You could also cook vegetables in the pan for a stir-fry. But take note, the bottom surface heats up quickly and retains heat! Things can easily burn if you don’t know what you’re doing in the kitchen.

I’m a massive fan of the contrasting wooden handle. It reminds me of a classic French home kitchen somewhere in the countryside. However, because it contains wood, it’s not dishwasher-friendly. Le Creuset also has a cast iron everyday pan, but without the handle.

Another plus is that the handle doesn’t heat up during cook time. So it’s easy to take off the stove, no gloves needed. Also, the black satin interior enamel creates a patina (a natural layer), which amplifies cooking performance, much the same as any good wok does.

Le Creuset Stoneware U Mug 380ml, $66

(Original price $76)

Here’s a little secret: I have an affinity for mugs. My dedicated mug cupboard barely has space to contain all of them. But by mugs, I don’t mean the mundane kind. Instead, I’m a sucker for a “designer” mug, especially those with an abstract shape.

I think this is because I’m a coffee snob. I have every single one of Le Creuset’s mug collections in every colour. My personal favourites are the sage, ice green and quince. Dune is also gorgeous. The Le Creuset U Mug is one of its most popular designs in Singapore, and the curved rim changes the drinking experience — I don’t like a sharp, hard rim. Plus, its rounded shape fits snugly in the palm of your hand.

Liquid capacity equals 380ml. But not only does it look great, it’s also heat and cold-resistant. Make a chocolate fondant in it and cook it in the oven (safe up to 260°C), or utilise the mug for storing cold liquids whilst cooking or storing in the freezer/fridge (up to -20°C).

These mugs are very much dishwasher-safe, and I’m yet to see a scratch on any of my mugs. If you’re just as obsessed as I am, check out some of the other Le Creuset mug sizes, like the 350ml for those who enjoy a small cup of coffee or tea (me), espresso-sized, and even for a cortado.

Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Bread Oven, Cerise, $542

Any bakers or avid bread-makers reading this list of the best Le Creuset items? Wondering what product is the best Le Creuset for sourdough? You’ll want to consider the Le Creuset bread oven for this one.

If your oven is preoccupied, the Le Creuset bread oven works on the stovetop, too. (Hence the reason it’s called an oven.)

I particularly love how sturdy all of Le Creuset’s cookware is. This bread oven’s tight-fitting dome-shaped lid ensures that no steam escapes, evenly circulating while the dough bakes. The results are a perfectly risen bread with a delicious, crispy crust. Remember when baking, the worst thing you can do is open the oven!

The bottom of the matte black satin enamel interior is marked by the brand’s three signature rings, adding a bit of flair and character to any bread. Thanks to the Porcelain enamel finish, the bread loaf doesn’t stick, either.

Le Creuset Stoneware Floral Oval Dish 22cm, $73

(Original price $83)

Add the finishing touch to your table for when you’re entertaining and have guests over with the Le Creuset Stoneware Floral Oval Dish.

Serve a salad in here, vegetables, rice, or even sliced meats. Not just limited to savoury, a batch of brownies or cupcakes presents beautifully. The height is ideal for showcasing baked goods, as it’s not overbearingly tall — so you can still see whatever is displayed within.

It has a diameter of 22cm and is 5 cm in height. Its width is 18.8cm and its length is 21.6cm.

As part of the stoneware range, it is suitable for oven-use (up to 260ºC), as well as microwave-safe. You can also keep it stored in the refrigerator and freezer, withstanding temperatures of -20°C. This means the dish doubles as a serving and storage item.

Le Creuset Cast Iron Square Skillet Grill 26cm, Classic (Cherry Red), $281

(Original price $469, 40% discount)

Whenever I’m in the mood for lamb chops, my Le Creuset Cast Iron Square Skillet Grill comes out to play, and by play, I mean cook. My favourite part about this skillet is the ribbed base. Not only does this catch excessive grease, but it adds a fantastic charring to your meat. The ribbed texture looks as if a professional has done the cooking.

Not just savoured for the meat department, the skillet is also amazing for cooking seafood and vegetables — especially if you’re after a “charred” look.

The black satin interior enamel ensures an even heat distribution (so you don’t have to use soaring high temps), and the skillet heats up quickly, whether it’s on an induction or gas stove top. But you can also throw this one into the oven if you want to start your dish on the stove and finish it off in the oven. This is common for meats like lamb, beef and pork.

Available in two sizes, I’d say go with the 26cm. The other option is 20cm, but the extra 6cm really comes in handy, especially when cooking meats with bones. The extra space is always a bonus.

Like most Le Creuset cast iron items, it comes with a lifetime warranty. It’s dishwasher-safe.

Le Creuset Bijou Large Spatula Spoon - Powder Pink, $51

(Original price $59 on Lazada)

If you’re just as obsessed with Le Creuset as I am, is your kitchen truly complete without a Le Creuset Bijou Large Spatula Spoon?

Constructed from silicone and with a wooden handle, it’s great to use on a variety of foods and cooking methods, whether sweet or savoury.

In between a spoon and spatula shape, it’s ideal for stirring, mixing, scraping and lifting. Use it whilst making a sauce, or to transfer a chicken breast onto the plate. Or it’s great for baking, scraping up leftover mixture on the sides of the bowl, or combining ingredients. It’s heat resistant, so hot liquids like oil don’t affect it.

Also, because of the silicone, it’s so super duper easy to clean, and whatever food/liquid is on the spatula spoon easily washes off. It doesn’t absorb any flavors either, like a wooden spoon would.

With its wooden handle, do not put it in the dishwasher. Woods expands. However, one nifty thing about this utensil is that the silicone head slides off, so if you do want to put it in a dishwasher load, you totally can. I prefer not to, though. It’s 28cm long.

Le Creuset Salt and Pepper Mill Set, $107

Spruce up your dining table with the Le Creuset Salt and Pepper Mill Set. Available in an array of iconic Le Creuset colours, make a statement with this set. It’s a wonderful addition to the table for dinner parties, and my set always has its place at the table.

To fill it up with salt or pepper, you simply unscrew the silver knob with the ‘s’ or ‘p’ symbol on it. Twist this open, and the top part of the mill easily comes off. Here you fill the compartment with your salt or pepper, add back on, and twist the silver knob back down, and voila.

One of the first things I noticed when using my set is how gently it disperses the salt or pepper, and makes no sound. So it’s not obtrusive when you have guests over. Suitable for fine or coarse salt/pepper, you’re able to adjust the grind setting by turning the knob. Clockwise gives a finer ground, while anti-clockwise is coarser.

Also, let’s be honest, it looks a lot prettier than your standard supermarket-bought plastic salt and pepper grinders.

Le Creuset Stoneware Ramekins, Set of 2 (Soleil), $37

(Original price $69, 45% discount)

Some of us love to cook, for others, our happy place is baking. The Le Creuset Stoneware Ramekins (in a set of two) are fantastic for making soufflés, mousse, microwave cake-in-a-pot, crème brûlée, custard, and the list goes on. Even make cute little frozen yoghurt pots with them — they can go in the freezer.

Then there’s dips, patés, mini pot-pies, eggs, kiddie casseroles, and all sorts imaginable that these ramekins are suitable for. They can go in the microwave and oven, withstanding temps of up to 260ºC.

Not just reserved for cooking and baking, take them out for when you have guests and are putting together a charcuterie board. Add dips, olives, salsa, tapenades, berries, etc.

Manufactured from Le Creuset’s signature stoneware, the material doesn’t soak up any flavors or smells, and they are easy to clean or put in the dishwasher. Each ramekin can hold up to 240ml.
