10 Best Portable Fans in Singapore
Stay cool on the go, whether you prefer a chic Jisulife or a generic Shopee mini fan.
By Gwyneth Goh -
The Singapore heat doesn’t play nice—particularly when you’re stuck waiting for the bus, packing into MRT crowds, or trying to stay cool without cranking up the aircon 24/7. That’s why portable fans have become a daily essential, and trust me, not all fans are made equal.
One brand that’s been absolutely everywhere lately? Jisulife. Whether it’s the ultra-slim foldables or wearable neck fans, these viral gadgets are blowing up TikTok, filling carts on Shopee, and making serious waves in the portable fan world. But with prices creeping towards $100 for some models, I had to ask—are they really worth it? Or can a humble $12.80 fan do the job just as well?
I also fell into the neck fan vs handheld fan debate. Neck fans are great for hands-free cooling while walking or doing chores, or riding a bike, but handheld fans still win for direct breeze power when you’re seated at your desk or braving the outdoor heat.
After combing through Shopee, Amazon, Reddit threads, TikTok demos, and seemingly endless reviews, I’ve rounded up 10 of the best portable fans in Singapore right now—covering varied use cases and budgets. But first, what should you be looking at when it comes to portable fans?

Shopee Portable Bladeless 360° Fan, $12.80
Best hands-free bladeless fan for clipping on baby carrier
One of my mummy friends recommended this fan to me on Shopee, sharing her surprise at how good it had turned out to be for this price. After buying and using it for over a year now, I absolutely agree with her. This is cheap, and such a nifty little useful fan—it’s smaller than my palm (although slightly bulky in terms of height), and weighs only 160 g.
For context, we use this mostly while baby-carrying, clipping it on to either strap of the baby carrier so that it can cool baby (and mummy intermittently) while we’re walking about—baby-carrying in outdoor Singapore is such sweaty business. But I’ve also clipped it on my shirt on many occasions, and this works wonderfully for cooling one person.
Here’s why I love it. Firstly, it’s bladeless—absolutely baby-safe and child-friendly. Secondly, its 360° wind-circulating design allows you to rotate it and blow cool air in any direction you choose—one tiny easy motion, no finicking around with fan stands or fan stems. Thirdly, it’s hands-free, which I personally love, because who has an extra hand for holding a fan when you’ve got this and that and a baby or child to hold? Note however that this clip has a narrower flex, and can’t be used on stroller bars. It’s perfect for fabrics or baby carrier straps though, and can definitely be clipped onto a stroller hood and angled towards your baby, or clipped to your backpack.
The 360-degree wind circulation also creates airflow that feels more diffused and gentle—it’s not one of those fans that slap you in the face with an aggressive gust. It uses USB-C for a full charge in 66 minutes, and has a stated battery capacity of 900 mAh which translates into 5 hours of usage. To be fair, you always have to “discount” the manufacturers’ stated battery life, but I was surprised on several occasions that the fan still had power left after several consecutive days’ use (I usually use it for an hour or so each day). My only minor complaint about this mini portable fan is its volume on high speed, but that’s mostly because it’s positioned so close to my baby’s ears.
This generic Portable Bladeless 360° Fan is priced at $12.80 from Shopee.
Jisulife Handheld Fan Ultra2, $80.99
Best premium 3-in-1 portable fan for maximum cooling power
If you’re going to blow almost $100 on a fan, it should do everything this one does. This solid “built-like-a-tank” chunk of wind-generating power isn’t just a fan—it’s a pocket-sized jet engine packed into an elegant sturdy shell which also functions as a torch and power bank (officially).
Unofficially, it also moonlights as hairdryer, clothes-dryer, air pump, computer keyboard cleaner, firewood dryer, and anything else you can think of that needs high-speed drying or cooling. With 100 adjustable wind speeds and a scorching-fast 43,000 RPM motor, even Singapore’s afternoon humidity is no match for it.
What I love most is the massive 9,000 mAh battery, which promises up to 25 hours of continuous use at low speeds—amazing. The 18W rapid charge is also super handy via USB-C, needing only 2.5-3.5 hours for a full charge.
Complete with a digital display for speed and battery level, this multitool sounds like the perfect buddy for camping trips or during power outages, even while travelling. And yes, at 65 dB max, it’s loud—but honestly, how can it be both super-powerful and silent at the same time? Just dial it down to a lower speed during Zoom calls and keep turbo mode for those sweaty afternoons at the zoo.
It’s no lightweight at just under 295 g but that’s still an acceptable weight for powerbanks this size—what more a 3-in-1. In short: the Ultra2 is a “serious heat” companion that does many other useful things. It costs more, but this feels like an investment in comfort and functionality.
The Jisulife Handheld Fan Ultra2 is priced at $80.99 from Jisulife and Lazada.
MUJI USB Rechargeable Compact Handheld Fan, $19
Best minimalist quiet handheld fan
Fans of MUJI will be delighted to know this little portable fan is not just pretty to look at—it’s also a pretty good fan. This MUJI handheld fan is everything you’d expect from the Japanese brand: compact, understated, and designed to just work without fuss.
It’s USB-rechargeable (using a micro USB-B) and features a 1400 mAh battery which takes approximately 3.5 hours to fully charge. It’s stated to run up to 12 hours on the lowest “rhythm” setting, or around 2 hours on high—pretty decent for daily outings or long commutes. The fan is impressively lightweight (just 92 g), and has a folding neck up to 120°, so it works both as a handheld and desktop fan. It also has a strap loop built in, which can be handy if you want the extra option of hanging it.
Design-wise, it’s classic MUJI—clean lines, a neutral off-white tone, and zero branding in sight. Because it’s so slim, it slides easily into small handbags without poking out or weighing things down. Best of all, at 40 dB, this is one calm, unobtrusive fan.
If you’re after a quiet, minimalist fan that blends into your lifestyle and lasts through long hot afternoons, this is a solid buy.
The MUJI USB Rechargeable Compact Handheld Fan is priced at $19 from Lazada and Shopee.
Jisulife Handheld Fan Life 9, from $23.90
Best high-speed jet turbine mini fan
“No. 1 Best Selling Handheld Fan” on Shopee at the time of writing, this is “the one”—if you’re looking for a powerful yet small portable fan that doesn’t scream “toy.” To be fair, 8 of Shopee’s Top 10 are Jisulife fans right now, but there must be good reason why this is “No. 1”. Over 43,400 sold, with a 4.9 product rating reviewed by over 11,200 people—you’ve got to love those stats.
Dubbed “Tiny Hurricane”, this mini monster boasts a 9-blade turbine fan with a maximum speed of 40,000 RPM (what?!) and a maximum wind speed of 10m/s—encased in sleek, chic, futuristic aesthetic. It looks like something you might see on a sci-fi set—and yes, it performs like one too.
With a large 5000 mAh battery capacity (there’s a 3600 mAh option too) and 5-speed settings, it really doesn’t mess around. 5000 mAh translates into up to 18 hours of battery life with a 3-to-4-hour charging time via USB-C. The “air turbo air multiplication technology” just sounds like ad talk for very strong wind.
It weighs 160 g (lighter than a cellphone) and comes with a lanyard. Plus, it’s got a sturdy base so it stands easily when you need some turbo cooling at your desk or bedside. While it doesn’t have fancy add-ons like a flashlight or powerbank like some other Jisulife models, I think the focus on pure cooling power makes this a solid buy.
Note: Manufacturer specs do not mention its noise level for some reason, and the few one-star reviews explain exactly why, with one reviewer warning not to “turn on this fan in MRT and sound like you launching a rocket to space.”
The Jisulife Handheld Fan Life 9 is priced from $23.90 from Amazon and Lazada.
Jisulife, Handheld Fan Life 8, from $6.90
Best value kid-friendly 3-in-1 pocket fan with extra-long runtime
This cute little bear fan packs much more (literal) power than meets the eye. You could consider this one of Jisulife’s entry level models, but you’re going to get so much more than you’re paying for here.
With a hefty 4,500 mAh battery (there’s a 2000 mAh option), it runs up to 37 hours on low speed (the 2000 mAh one up to 24 hours), so it easily outlasts any commute, al fresco café session, or outdoor hike. Reviewers say the three wind speeds (two-speed for the 2000 mAh option) are “strong” and “powerful” while “not too noisy”, giving other fans in this price range a run for their money.
What really impressed me were the extra functions: it also triples as a power bank and built-in flashlight when you need. It uses USB-C charging which is convenient, and has a foldable space-saving design. It’s so small, light (approximately 125 g) and “beary” cute, but my favourite part about this fan is its safety design. This automatically shuts off when its soft TPE blades are touched—perfect for little ones. I’m going to buy these for my kids next. Plus: Also comes with lanyard.
The Jisulife Handheld Fan Life 8 is priced from $6.90 from Amazon and Shopee.
Baseus GoTrip DT1, $24.41
Best foldable handheld and desktop fan with long battery life
Popular electronic accessories brand Baseus has also thrown their hat into the mini portable fan ring with this one. The Baseus GoTrip DT1 feels like the Tesla of portable fans—minimalist, clever, and a little extra in the best possible way. Reminiscent of some Jisulife models, this sleek silhouette has been made foldable and paired with a digital LED screen that shows remaining battery and speed.
With a 4000 mAh battery, Type-C charging, and 5 wind speeds (maximum 19000 RPM), this fan is packed with power. The airflow is intense thanks to the jet-inspired air duct system, and the turbine fan blades are completely hidden in a narrow vent, making it safe for even little fingers. It’s also protected from overheating and overcharging.
The folding handle means it sits neatly at 90° on a desk or in your hand. Its weight at 139 g means you can throw it into your tote or gym bag and forget about it until the need (or heat) arises. This fan’s build quality feels more high-end than its price suggests, and the LED battery indicator seems super handy so you’ll never caught off guard with a flat battery mid-MRT ride.
The Baseus GoTrip DT1 is priced at $24.41 from Lazada and Shopee.
FRIZCOL Portable Stroller Fan 2-in-1 Power Bank 12000 mAh, from $36.74
Best portable fan for baby strollers with large-capacity power bank
I stumbled across this fan while hunting for something stroller-compatible and was drawn to it because of how well-reviewed it is—4.4 stars with over 6,000 reviews on Amazon is very decent in my opinion.
With a massive 12,000 mAh battery, this really stands out in a sea of compact handheld fans. What caught my attention were the flexible tripod-style legs (octopus legs, some call them)—super handy for wrapping around a stroller handle, bed frame, or even your car seat headrest. You can basically wrap it around anything, anywhere.
Despite the size of the battery, it charges via USB-C (yay), and can run for up to a shocking 65 hours on the lowest speed. It’s got three speeds, can be rotated 360°, and the motor is advertised as quiet—which is a big plus when your little one’s napping.
It also serves as a back-up power bank, which is great because mummies (with mombrain) tend to forget to charge their phones a lot. While it’s designed for stroller use, I imagine it’d be just as helpful clipped on a bunk bed or shelf during a study session, or hung from a tent hook when you’re out camping (it has a “foldable invisible hook”). This doesn’t claim to be bladeless or ultra sleek like a Jisulife, but it’s practical and seems to be a practical workhorse.
The FRIZCOL Portable Stroller Fan 2-in-1 Power Bank 12000 mAh is priced from $36.74 at Amazon.sg.
SWEETFULL Portable 180° Foldable Handheld Misting Fan, from $28.63
Best portable handheld misting fan for outdoor cooling
If you’ve ever sat through a hot, sticky afternoon in Singapore, you’ll know that even the strongest breeze sometimes isn’t enough. That’s where a misting fan like this comes in. The SWEETFULL Portable Misting Fan combines strong airflow with a fine mist spray to help you cool down faster — making it ideal not just for home use, but also for outdoor activities like picnics, hikes, theme park visits, rock concerts, or just waiting for the bus under the scorching sun. It’s also useful for setting make-up so you don’t look powdery or caked.
It features three fan speeds and a separate misting function you can toggle on or off, depending on how intense the heat is. The 4000 mAh rechargeable battery (via USB-C) offers decent runtime depending on your usage mode and speed, and the 30 ml built-in water tank is easy to detach and refill, offering up to 20 minutes of spray runtime.
This is the kind of fan you want in your bag when heading out during Singapore’s hottest, stickiest months. Even indoors, the cooling mist gives much-needed relief in non-air-conditioned rooms or during power-saving no-aircon nights. It’s also foldable and serves as a desk fan, but note that some reviews called it “unwieldy”—being 249 g and 4.2 cm x 10.7 cm x 21.5 cm.
The SWEETFULL Portable 180° Foldable Handheld Misting Fan is priced from $28.63 at Amazon.sg.
TORRAS COOLiTE Neck Fan, from $85.12
Best wearable turbo neck fan with powerful airflow
I kept seeing the name “TORRAS” pop up on travel TikToks and Reddit threads about neck fans, and was quite stupefied after discovering how much the COOLiFY cost—why would anyone pay almost $400 for a neck fan (?!!) The COOLiTE though comes in at a much more palatable price to me, which also caught my attention.
Geek fact: the COOLiFY models cost that much because they are literally mobile aircons you can prop around your neck—they use a semiconductor cooling chip for instantaneous cooling. The COOLiTE (which might be likened to a not-so-distant cousin) however, uses just… fans. It is one of the most powerful fan options you can wear comfortably around your neck though.
Using an innovative quad-turbo wind fan design and patented airflow compression technology, the COOLiTE delivers 8450 RPM ultra-high speed “gale” via a 360° surround airflow—which gets your face, neck and back (pretty much the whole upper body). This “storm engine for your neck” claims to bring about a temperature drop of up to 15°F (about 9.44°C) in just 3 seconds.
It weighs about 309 g though (which I wouldn’t exactly call lightweight) but users have reported it sits comfortably and is “unobtrusive”. They’ve also praised it for its “excellent battery life”–4000 mAh charged via USB-C offers up to 14 hours in Eco mode and up to 4 hours in Gale mode.
The adjustable 3-speed fan system (Eco, Strong, Gale) lets you toggle between a gentle breeze or a full-blown wind tunnel, depending on whether you’re walking in the sun or waiting for the MRT. I also like that it’s made of skin-friendly, soft-touch silicone and folds down for packing.
The TORRAS COOLiTE Neck Fan is priced from $85.12 at Amazon.sg.
Xiaomi Rechargeable Mini Fan, $32.50
Best quiet minimalist desktop fan with aromatherapy
I had a previous Xiaomi iteration similar to this one, and it served me well as a stroller clip-on fan for quite a while. Being a big Xiaomi fan (pun absolutely intended), I’ve been searching for a Xiaomi fan but found a lot of them on Shopee these days are marketed as Xiaomi without being actually Xiaomi-branded. Some of the confusion stems from the fact that Xiaomi is also an active hardware incubator that invests in numerous partner companies, and I suppose these startups often try to ride on the brand’s coattails.
This one however is bona fide Xiaomi. It’s marketed as being a handheld or desktop fan, but let’s face it—it’s too chunky (670 g?!) to be comfortably (or inconspicuously) handheld. Its thick stem however makes it the perfect desktop or picnic tabletop companion. This is quintessential Xiaomi in every way: minimalist, functional, and affordable.
It features a four-speed wind control setting, delivering a pretty strong breeze at its highest. Its 4000 mAh battery gives up to 18.5 hours on the lowest speed, and it uses USB-C for convenient charging. It also has a 7-blade design inspired by nature for a wide-angle, gentle airflow and automatic horizontal 90° oscillation (it can also oscillate 90° vertically).
I really like that it has a built-in Aroma Pad in the front fan guard which lets you add your favourite essential oil for diffusing—think citronella for keeping the mozzies away, or lavender for a relaxing night’s sleep. What’s coolest about it though is its ultra-quiet DC brushless motor operation—33.7 dB at the lowest and 45.11 dB at the highest setting—making this a fab sleep, study or work companion.
The Xiaomi Rechargeable Mini Fan is priced at $32.50 from Amazon and Lazada
How to choose a portable fan?
Okay, I know it’s not cool (pun intended) to nerd out on portable fans, but if you’ve ever had one die mid-commute or buzz like a tiny jet plane during a Zoom call, you’d know that some little things do matter when choosing your handheld buddy. Here’s what I always check before hitting “Add to Cart”:
Battery Life (mAh): Look at the mAh (milliampere hour) rating—the higher it is, the longer your fan will last per charge. Google says a 2000 mAh fan can run for 2-10 hours while a 4000 mAh battery (double its capacity) can give 4–15 hours of usage depending on speed settings (some manufacturers claim 20 hours on the lowest setting, but who are we kidding—we’re usually on the highest setting in sweaty Singapore). If you’re using it outdoors or for travelling, go for something with at least 3000 mAh.
Charging Port (USB-C vs micro-USB): Most newer fans now use USB-C, which is faster and more convenient. Micro-USB works too but may be slower or harder to charge if you’ve already moved your devices to USB-C.
Noise Level: A fan that roars like a mini blender can be pretty embarrassing or deafening. Look for models advertised as “quiet”, especially if you plan to use them at the library, office or while taking Zoom calls. Anything under 40–50 dB can generally be considered “ambient”.
Speed Settings & Airflow: At minimum, the fan should have 3 speed settings—low, medium, and high. Some fans may state their RPM (revolutions per minute) but a higher RPM doesn’t always exactly translate into stronger wind (although it would if all things were equal). Other factors including fan blade shape and size also contribute to determining wind speed.
Weight & Size: Handheld fans should ideally weigh under 200 g, especially if you’re tossing them in your bag. You also wouldn’t want them too bulky, unless you’re looking for a clip on or something sturdy (e.g. for sticking on the stroller). For neck fans, weight distribution matters—go for something balanced and ergonomic, especially if you plan to wear it for long periods.
Foldability & Storage: Fans like the Jisu Life F8 can fold down into a little palm-sized cylinder, which is great for compact carry. Some models even double up as power banks or phone stands—multi-tasking bonus!
Charging Time: Most fans take between two to four hours to charge fully. If you’re often in a rush, a fast-charge model might be worth the splurge.
Clip or Stand Options: If you’re using the fan for a desk setup, stroller, or bedside table, check if it has a clip-on base or standing support. Some models come with 360° rotation which is extra handy.
Safety Features: Fans with covered blades or bladeless designs (like mini Dyson dupes) are safer for kids or pets. Also check for auto shut-off when the battery gets too low or the motor overheats.
Aesthetic & Colour: Okay, not essential, but let’s be honest—we all have a vibe. Whether you love minimalist white, pastels, something kawaii, or black, there’s a fan that fits your style.
