STREAT

A part of Singapore Food Festival, pop-up restaurant Streat is back for its third edition. Helmed by 2 recognised chefs, the pop-up will present contemporary interpretations of local classics as well as a takeaway counter for those on the go. In addition, the pair are also curating a selection of 9 stalls, each helmed by a line-up of young hawkerpreneurs and chefs, which will introduce you to quintessentially local dishes but with a unique twist.

PRINT / PRINT (II)

Meet the makers in the second edition of PRINT / PRINT this coming weekend. You can expect to see more vendors, including the likes of Onlewo and BooksActually, as well as a myriad of wares, from unique prints to textile creations. This edition will also have a free screen print workshop by STPI and a unique Yong Tau Foo-style Book Box station from BooksActually.

ASPN’s The Social Fairground

Featuring a diverse line-up of events, ASPN’s The Social Fairground is an event to do and feel good at this weekend, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Association for Persons with Special Needs! You can browse through a diverse collection of curated stalls at the TLP Art Market or feast on a selection of offerings at the Kerbside Gourmet food truck. For a special experience, there will also be a human library where you can find out more about individuals with special needs.

Ephemeral Silhouettes - Moonassi

Pondering your existence in the universe? The much asked question of “who am I” is the theme of Korean artist Monassi’s latest exhibition in his search for identity. Taking him far across the world to Norway, his journey has not produced any answers but has made him realise why the answer might never be found. This spark of realisation is contained within the monochrome ink-wash paintings that evoke simplicity and purity, contrasting with the philosophical each piece possess.

The O.P.E.N

If you haven’t attended any of The O.P.E.N’s eye-opening line-up of programmes centring on our world and humanity, the next two weeks are your last chance. Themed ‘enchantment’, the rest of the festival will showcase a line-up of diverse programmes, ranging from film to open kitchens, where the audience is invited to experience cooking with a spectrum of home cooks with stories and hidden techniques as delightful as their dishes.

Fabric Corsage Workshop

It might not be happening this week, but you never know when a chance to learn how to make a fashionable pop-patterned corsage from Japanese graphic artist Takora from Tako Labo might come again. Using textiles and paper goods, Tokora sparks the imagination with his vivid and bold patterns that blend shapes and colours to form artful pieces. He will be bringing cutoffs from his own Tako Labo fabric, specially flown in from Japan, and all other materials will also be provided so you can focus on enjoying an afternoon of crafty creation.
