Fancy a 3D-printed chair by Zaha Hadid Architects?
Though the technology isn't new for new designers, veteran designers are also jumping on board with 3D printers. And the designs are uber innovative! Spanish product design studio Nagami collaborated with leading designers Zaha Hadid Architects, Ross Lovegrove and Daniel Widrig to create four products, unveiled at Milan Design Week 2018. The ‘Brave New World’ collection – named after the 1932 dystopian novel by Aldous Huxley – is created entirely by 3D printing.
Here's what else you can expect:
The 'Bow' chair, by Zaha Hadid Architects' is made with biodegradable polylactic acid plastic which makes it light and durable. The stem-like base extends out into a purple concave petal.
The 'Rise' chair: also created by Zaha Hadid Architects with biodegradable polylactic acid plastic.
The 'Robotica TM' by award-winning Welsh designer Ross Lovegrove in also inspired by nature. The piece doubles as a heat-proof table as well.
Renowned English architect Daniel Widrig uses a single shell of 3D printed plastic for the 'Peeler.'
