Sought after by trend-savvy homemakers since the brand was established in 2002, Hay is a name that’s synonymous with chic furniture creations inspired by the golden era of Mid-century Danish furniture design. Founders Rolf & Mette Hay launched the brand’s debut collection at the international furniture fair IMM Cologne in Germany, sparking off a wave of excitement among design enthusiasts over its unique designs merging timeless style with functionality. In Singapore, you can find a large selection of Hay products at premium furnishing store Dream Interiors.
What sets Hay apart from other furniture brands is its diverse array of products designed for hip home living. Hay’s range of products includes indoor and outdoor furniture, lighting, and home accessories. For these stylish and unique designs, prices are affordable as well.
Hay’s Kaleido trays (pictured) come in various geometric shapes and can be used individually, or placed together to create interesting contrasts, as the pieces are available in many colours.
The brand is known for collaborating with well-known international designers such as Scholten & Baijings from Holland, and Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec from France, who designed the Palissade outdoor lounge chair (pictured). The Palissade collection also includes stools, benches, tables and sofas, designed to look elegant and sleek, without being fragile.
Hay also collaborated with Danish designer Hee Welling on The About Series. One of the bestsellers from Hay, this collection was developed to tap on the unlimited potential of contemporary furniture design. Welling’s collection comprises a range of versatile seating appointments that can be customised to suit your preferences (with many choices of colour, upholstery and frame options available) and used throughout the home. The About A Chair (pictured) is a classic piece with great ergonomic design and simple curves; it offers optimal comfort to users, and is versatile both as a dining and study chair.
Organise your things stylishly with Hay’s New Order aluminium shelving systems (pictured) that allow for endless display variations with contemporary colour schemes — there’s even a model that’s 2m-wide.
Hay has put together a collection of small accessories in the Hay Mini Market, featuring outstanding pieces that were introduced at the Milan furniture fair in 2014. In collaboration with Norwegian designer Lars Beller Fjetland, the Cloche table lamp (pictured) has a black powder-coated arm and cast-iron base that resembles the suspension of a traditional dining cloche.
