Artful House sells wood furniture from the colonial era, most of which is sourced from and restored in Indonesia, Sri Lanka and India. “We pick pieces made of high-quality rosewood, teak, and other hardwoods,” says store owner Padmaja Rajagopalan.

The Artful House showroom is constantly evolving, with new pieces coming in once a week. If you're a fan of heritage pieces, the handcrafted Hope Chest (pictured above) made in Chettinad, India may pique your interest. Made to hold a bride’s trousseau and her dowry, it was restored by owner Padmaja and her team.
Displayed in Artful House, the design of this 75-year-old Arch Bench is unique to the Mughal people of India.

Like the Hope Chest, most of the pieces are unique, including the brightly coloured reclaimed wood cabinets. All designed and crafted by Padmaja’s team, her collection of reclaimed wood furnishings includes decorative pieces such as carved doors made into mirror frames. You can also shop for accessories such as hanging lights, throw cushions and tableware.
