Combining traditional Japanese craftsmanship and European glassmaking techniques, pioneer Japanese glassware company Hirota recently launched the Futachoko collection, which showcases gorgeous, intricately designed pieces. Contemporary, geometric patterns are realised through a contemporary take on Edo-Cut Glass, a 150-yearold glass sculpting method. The glasses create mesmerising reflections when held up to the light, and can be used as tableware or candleholders. The Futachoko seven-piece collection truly pays tribute to the old and the new.

Hirota’s Futachoko glass cup and cover set retails for $298. Check out the full collection at Atomi, #04-26/27 Mandarin Gallery, www.atomi-jp.com.
