Renowned New York architect David Rockwell has released his fourth book. Published by Phaidon, Drama explores his practice Rockwell Group’sideas and design methods, featuring examples from both the architecture and theatre scenes and from both inside and outside the firm. Featuring striking blue, curtain-like cover, Drama explores the six fundamental concepts of David’s practice: Audience, Ensemble, Worlds, Story, Journey, and Impermanence. Each chapter demonstrates how these principles may be applied not just to theatre but to a wide range of creative disciplines.

A Fine Game

Singapore-based British artist Louise Hill’s exhibition Singapore Streets at the Siri House features hand-finished Giclee prints depicting sights and sounds of Singapore that are specially created for Siri House. Artworks on show are available for sale, ranging from $1,195 to $3,385.

The Sweet Spot
Ikea has unveiled the sixth edition of Ikea Art Event, a limited edition collection comprising 10 home furnishing objects that occupy that sweet spot between art and functionality.
The Ikea Art Event 2021 collection is a tribute to everyday objects, including wall decoration lighting pieces by Kiwi designer Sabine Marcelis, a wall clock by American artist Daniel Arsham, a table lamp and a torch by Japanese design collective Gelchop, a vase and a throw by German illustrator Stefan Marx and wall decorations made with drone models by Swedish design duo Humans Since 1982.

Artist of the Month: Yunizar
Indonesian artist Yunizar believes that human nature reveals itself through organic instinct and personal ideas of beauty. This view results in a playful style that manifests in an aesthetic that reminds one of childlike doodles and scribbles. Drawing from Minangkabau’s poetic oral traditions, he incorporates incomprehensible scribbling in his work, a nod to the organic flow of words that travel through people.
