A WORLD OF IMAGINATION
French fabric house Pierre Frey is known for its eclectic, vastly varied collections designed in collaboration with designers from all over the world – and its latest one was created together with California-based decorator Ken Fulk.

This new range features an intricate pastiche of dreamlike scenes inspired by neoclassical Parisian architecture, American West folklore, redwood forests, even Roman emperors.

As is the case with most of Pierre Frey’s collections, the patterns are boldly imaginative and wildly theatrical, making them an ideal choice for a feature wall or statement rug.

VINTAGE VIBES
Founded by Dutch journalist and design lover Kaia Nelk-Sikteoeboen and her husband Robert in 2020, Studio Yono sells timeless, iconic and one-of-a-kind 20th-century furniture sourced from Europe.

Recently the studio has expanded its offering with a collection of tiled furniture, including coffee tables, planters and plant stands.

Kaia started making tiled furniture as a passion project for her own home, but soon friends and acquaintances began asking if she could make more for them.

“So, I decided to make different designs and sell them to everybody who wants a real eye-catcher in their own home,” shares Kaia.

The furniture base is made of wood and finished with locally bought ceramic tiles. Every piece is made to order by Kaia and Robert with a lead time of two weeks.
The Tiled Furniture collection from Studio Yono retails from $95 (for a planter box) to $550 (for a coffee table). Visit www.studioyono.com for more information.

TEXTURAL MAKEOVER
The LAB2.1, the experimental platform for radical lighting and lifestyle products from homegrown lighting retailer Sol Luminaire, has had a store makeover to welcome the latest two products from artisanal lighting brand A by Arturo Alvarez.

The centrepiece of the showcase is Agasallo, a family of organically-shaped metal mesh pendant lights, and Tati, a collection that emphasises textured and rounded carapaces made of small circles, both of which cast atmospheric lights in any room.

BURNING BRIGHT
Known for luxury furniture and lighting design, British designer Lee Broom has launched his debut collection of scented candles. These feature an elegant cubist shape handcrafted in crystal, within which sits a recyclable aluminium vessel in polished gunmetal or gold.

The candles themselves are 100 per cent natural soy and have an unbleached cotton wick, and come in two scents at present – On Reflection, which is a woody, citrus fragrance with notes of iris, lavender, lemon and lime, and Self Portrait, which features notes of fresh linen and bergamot for a sense of calm and well-being.

Says Lee Broom on the design: “I wanted to create a collection of scented candles that not only enhance a space with a beautiful fragrance but are beautiful objects in their own right. I have designed the candles to appear to float freely in the holder and create different reflections depending on the surroundings. There is a sense of permanence with the solid crystal holder and a sense of versatility with the different candle refills.”
