FLEETING MOMENT
If gazing at a particularly fluffy white cloud has ever left you wishfully pondering the somewhat implausible idea of reaching out into the sky to cup a handful of the dreamy mist in the palms of your hands, take comfort you are not the only one.

“Capturing in a transparent material a subject that is itself a mass of water drops, constantly moving and alive, was a big part of my idea behind the In the Clouds collection,” says its creator Jonathan Hansen.

For his first glassware collection, the New York-based designer worked with craftsmen from the Czech Republic, who spent their lives perfecting the art of engraving Bohemian crystal, resulting in a unique series of tumblers, jugs and vases with each piece showcasing one-of-a-kind cloud motifs, which were hand-drawn
by the artists themselves.

These vessels will have you building castles in the clouds with each sip of your favourite tipple, and thinking about accomplishing other seemingly impossible tasks as well.
In The clouds collection is available at Moda Operandi and retails from US$180 for a tumbler to US$630 for a jug.

SENSUAL SOUND
Sony’s LSPX-S3 Glass Sound Speaker is a far cry from the traditional boxy units of the past. A silver base tapers up to a glass body, both a tweeter and a lamp that gives off a soft candlelight glow.

Clear high tones penetrate the glass, allowing you to enjoy the music no matter where you are in the room. There is also a 46mm speaker unit for balanced midrange tones and an option to boost the bass on the Sony Music Center app.

As a bonus, did we mention the candlelight mode has four different lighting modes so that you can customise it for dinner with your special someone or for a relaxing evening?
The Sony LSPX-S3 Glass Sound Speaker retails at $499 at Sony online and in stores.
