Is a morning smoothie your daily ritual?

Gone are the days of basic blenders. Hey, it’s 2025. Nowadays, blenders have advanced a long way, and double up as more than just a device for soft fruits and yoghurt. You even get blenders suitable for both cold AND hot mixtures. Or, taking it one step further, a blender that is also a food processor.

Blenders, processors, smoothie-makers…Aren’t they all the same? The answer would be no. A blender is suitable for making liquids, like smoothies and soups. Food processors have the ability to chop, slice, and even knead ingredients, including bread dough. A food processor typically includes a smoothie-making or puree function, in addition to its standard features. There are some blenders that are also a food processor, but they aren’t as common as a best blender for smoothies and ice.

When considering buying your best blender for everything, first check out the device’s preset programs. For example, does it only make smoothies and crushed ice drinks? Does it have more functions, such as purees, coffee grinding, or even juicing?

Other considerations include price, size (blenders range in weight, and some are bigger than others, taking up more counter space), design (sleek, chunky, portable), power wattage, etc. If you use your blender often, also opt for a best blender for smoothies with a longer warranty.

Rounding things up, here are 10 of the best blenders for everything and smoothies, including the most popular brands like Vitamix, Ninja, and NutriBullet.

Vitamix E310 Explorian Series, $1,399

Best blender overall

If the Vitamix blender were a car brand, it would be the Rolls-Royce of blenders.

Although the E310 Explorian Series may seem like an expensive purchase, it’s one of Vitamix’s more affordable options. In my opinion, if you’re feeling hesitant about spending so much on the best blender for everything, but really want a Vitamix blender, then this is a great starting option. The other series are even pricier.

Also, a note on the price. Vitamix is one of the biggest blenders around, so you’re paying for quality, power, and size. This one has a 1.4-litre container.

So, what can you whizz up with this classic model? Smoothies of all kinds, ice crushing and frozen drinks, soup and hot ingredients (it’s both cold and hot compatible), chopping fruit and vegetables, pureeing baby food, kneading dough, grinding and milling, and making nut butter.

Specs include 10 speed controls, a pulse feature, and self-cleaning technology!

P.S. Vitamix specifically doesn’t manufacture its blenders with a glass jug for safety reasons, specifically for ingredients like ice, to avoid cracking glass.

Vitamix E310 Explorian Series is priced at $1,399 from Lazada and Robinsons.

Ninja Foodi Power Blender and Food Processor, $299

Best blender and food processor

When it comes to the best blender food processor combo, I personally love how sleek the design of the Ninja blender is. Its silver base colour is very stylish. But not only does it look good, it’s an affordable choice in comparison to other brands, especially considering that it is a USA-born brand. That being said, SharkNinja is extremely popular in Singapore.

Designed with a BPA-free XL Smoothie Bowl Maker and Nutrient Extraction Cup, this is Ninja’s most dynamic blender. The motor boasts 1200W smartTORQUE, and six pre-set Auto-iQ programs. The pitcher size is 2.1 litres.

Are you concerned about space in your kitchen? Not only is this everything-blender a food processor (including slicing, shredding and grating features), but it comes with various parts creating different appliances. This includes a 700ml NutriPower cup for juicing, a power smoothie bowl, and a grinder for coffee or spices.

Along with brands like the Vitamix, the Ninja is another one of the most popular food blender options. It’s an Amazon’s Choice product, too.

NutriBullet Pro 900 Series, $239

Best juicer blender

While the Vitamix and Ninja blenders are very popular, NutriBullet has made a serious global name for itself. A couple of years back, when juicing was a real trend, everyone wanted a NutriBullet! The Pro 900 Series is the most popular model, ticking affordability AND performance boxes.

I’d say if you care more about juicing than smoothie-making, the NutriBullet is a top-notch choice. It’s absolutely possible to do smoothies in here, as well as use the blender as a basic food processor. But if you want a heavy-duty blender for everything and smoothies, perhaps consider another. But when it comes to juicing, you can’t beat the NutriBullet.

One of its ultimate selling points for me is how slender the NurtiBullet is. I love that it’s not chunky nor heavy, and doesn’t take up much counter or cupboard space at all. The body base height is 20.7cm, and the cup height is 37.7cm. It weighs just 3.45kg, uses 900W, and has a special 6-blade.

Whether grinding, chopping, or making a smoothie, it whizzes ingredients together in about 30 seconds. The NutriBullet is also handy for on-the-go travel.

Tefal Dynamix Cook High Speed Cooking Blender BL967, $326

Tefal has been a household name in the appliance world for decades. Established in France in 1968, it’s a kitchen favourite whether talking about appliances or cooking utensils. Therefore, with the Tefal Dynamic Cook High Speed Cooking Blender, consumers can feel assured with their purchase with the long-standing, reputable brand.

Not a fan of plastic anything in your home? For those environmentally conscious buyers, this blender is manufactured from glass.

Using smart control, set the blender between 10 various functions, including both hot and cold capabilities, whether it’s baby food, smoothies, soups, porridge, purees, juices, and more! But apart from the basics, the Tefal Cooking Blender offers some other incredible features, like its fast heating technology. Heating up to 100°C, you can cook raw ingredients. It also has Automatic Temperature Control and two Auto Clean programs.

There’s nothing worse than a blender that leaves lumps behind. This one has Powelix blades technology for ultra-smooth mixtures.

On shopping platforms like Lazada or Shopee, it’s a top seller, and it’s available from the official Tefal Store. Enjoy a two-year warranty.

SMEG BLF03 Blender, 50’s Retro Style, $398

I don’t know if I am being biased because most of my appliances are Smeg, but I’m a Smeg girl through and through, and I love adding to my collection. Aesthetics matter to me, and my heart skips a happy beat every time I see my Smeg collection looking all seamless together.

Over and above a matching collection, I’m obsessed with Smeg’s iconic retro design, and the Smeg blender is no different.

Choose between the following settings. Smoothie is for yoghurt and fruit juice-based mixtures. Green smoothie is for green leafy vegetable juices. Ice crush does exactly as it describes, and is nifty for shaking up cool cocktails if you love to entertain. Chop small amounts of food using the stainless-steel blade when set on manual.

Lastly, the Autoclean function eliminates most of the after-mess work. With 800 watts of power and using 220 V, it’s powerful and gets the job done. But then again, all of the brand’s kitchen appliances do.

PHILIPS High Speed Digital Blender 7000 Series, $183

Best affordable blender

Winner of Singapore’s Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Award 2024, the Philips 7000 series is not just one of the best blender for smoothies and ice, but also really well-priced. As one can tell from its accolades, I feel like you know what you’re getting from this long-trusted brand. Philips doesn’t exactly make the fanciest appliances, but I own a few Philips products, which I’m happy to buy because of its reputation.

Founded in 1891 in the Netherlands, its appliances do the trick, last a few years, and always come with a reasonable price tag. Again, this is a great buy if you’re hesitant about how often you’ll use your blender for everything, and are seeking a standard buy.

But that’s not to say that this Philips High Speed Digital Blender doesn’t boast a few bells and whistles of its own. For example, it’s completely digitalised, giving it a modern vibe — no knobs here. It has ProBlend Ultra Technology (with a 1500W motor), an automatic blending timer, six quick select programs (smoothies, soups, sauces, nut butters, batters, and crushed ice), and 12 speed settings. The machine autocleans in two minutes.

Feel inspired with the NutriU App by Philips, packed with recipes for you to blend.

Vitamix A3500i Smart Blender Ascent Series VTMX626678, $2,399

Best smart blender

Are you a fan of tech-driven appliances? Then Vitamix’s smart blender may be right up your alley. A little pricier than the Explorian Series, that’s because it’s designed with smart features for extra convenience at your fingertips.

Among the five smart program settings, one automatically recognises the container size and then blends the contents to a perfect consistency, adjusting the speed accordingly. If you’re busy moms or dads, then you’ll also love the self-stop feature, where the blender instinctively turns off when your drink is ready. Other settings include hot soups, dips and spreads, frozen desserts, and the self-cleaning mode.

The Vitamix blender blades are hectic, made from stainless steel, and my favorite bit about the blender is that you rarely have to scrape the container jug for any bits and pieces that escaped blending. A tamper moves ingredients in the blades’ direction during blending. The base is manufactured from brushed stainless steel, and the container is BPA-free Tritan.

Everything is displayed via the touchscreen interface, clearly displayed in the front part of the machine.

KitchenAid K400 - Stand Blender, $463

KitchenAid is a renowned brand, so you can rest assured that this best blender for smoothies, drinks, purees, and salsas achieves a perfect result. It’s been around for over 100 years, and its very successful history is very telling of its quality — trusted by professional bakers and chefs worldwide.

Set the dial between three Preset Recipe Programs: Ice Crush, Icy Drinks, and Smoothie. There are five speed settings, as well as a pulse option, and the blender is suitable for a range of hardy ingredients from nuts to carrots. With its asymmetric blade, this blade chops whatever is in the blender at four varying angles, creating a meticulous consistency. You never have to stop the machine, scrape the sides, and then reblend.

The KitchenAid blender also has a smart feature: the Intelli-Speed Motor Control, sensing and maintaining optimal speed based on whatever contents are inside the ribbed jar.

I must say, in comparison to other blenders, this one is a little heavier than some, weighing seven kgs. But it feels sturdy, and you won’t feel worried during ice-crushing time.

Braun PowerBlend 9 JB 9040, $349

Any super fussy eaters in the house? Forget simply selecting your food processing program. Things are a bit more advanced than that when using the Braun PowerBlend. Instead of a few set programs, this best blender food processor combo is designed with a crazy 18! Included in this are six food programs and three specific textures.

For example, if your toddler only likes drinking smoothies with an ultra-fine texture, this blender will get you there. This is due to its special iTextureControl, where you get to choose your texture preference before blending! How amazing?

This is coupled with TriAction Technology, along with the triangular-shaped jug. Both functions create a 60% finer texture that works four times faster. Then, you’ve got its German-manufactured PrecisionEdge blade: a two-in-one blade specifically designed for hard ingredients. The Tritan jug is also shatterproof and odour-resistant.

Ninja Blast Max Portable Blender BC251, $129

Stay ahead of the blender trends with the latest Ninja blender: a portable option for you to use and take with you on the go! With Singapore’s hot climate, fresh dairy (like milk or yoghurt) can spoil quite easily. Do you gym after work, and therefore, make your smoothie before you leave home in the morning? Does your smoothie sit in its container all day? Keep things as fresh as ever with this nifty and convenient portable option.

Pack your fruits into a container, and use the blender only when you need to. Or it’s also perfect for frequent travelers. So you never have to go without your daily boost. My favourite bit is the fact that the container doubles as your on-the-go 650ml, BPA-free cup. Simply remove it from the base, and drink straight from the sip lid (handle included). The sip spout is leak-proof.

Specs-wise, it’s made with Auto-iQ Technology, together with Crush and Smoothie presets. The PowerBlast Technology ensures a super fine blend, and the Sharp CrushBlade chops up ice in seconds.

Its battery life is indicated on the front, and the device’s motor base is rechargeable.
