Living DNA: Bohemian-style rugs and home accessories in this Tampines showroom
By Home & Decor Team -
It is obvious what the star product at Living DNA – previously known as Departures & Arrivals – is. Rows of rugs, from geometric leather pieces to jute rugs in varying shapes, fill the 1,500sqf space of its showroom in Space at Tampines. Laid across the floor, the rugs are unobstructed by furniture or unnecessary structures.
“Displaying them this way, and with complementary accessories at the sides of the showroom, makes it easier for shoppers to visualise how these rugs will look and feel in their homes,” says founder Denise Kaur. She adds that while the brand’s online store has got them a lot of attention, buying rugs is still a tactile experience and shoppers appreciate having a space to “understand” the products.
Denise sources her collection from all over the world, including Africa and India. There are also gleaming Moroccan trays, modern batikproducts, and handmade, minimalist clocks from Japan. It exudes a bohemian look that appeals to the inquisitive and adventurous.
“Living DNA also stands for mindful living. We will continue to share the timeless aesthetics of world cultures, while educating our shoppers on appreciating quality and stories that last beyond a season,” shares Denise.
The chic Living DNA showroom has also become a popular Instagram spot for those who come to visit. The soft pink hue, as well as the arches that fill the space – a cross between a Mykonos boutique hotel and a Moroccan riad – creates a relaxing ambience.
