Celebrate Love and Prosperity at Sentosa in the Year of the Rooster

Specially for those born in the year of the rooster, have a free cable car ride on Sentosa! While you are there, catch their special dragon dance with lights, watch unique plays and have meet and greet sessions with auspicious characters. If you decide to just walk around, there are also zodiac lanterns and other gorgeous decorations for you to admire.

Istana Chinese New Year Open House

In celebration of Chinese New Year, Singapore’s equivalent to the White House will be open with a chockfull of activities planned just for you! Aside from the annual lion dance, there will also be a rooster and instrumental dance performance, a sunflower dance, opera performance and trained monkey puppet show. Visitors can also choose to go for a guided walk or do a self-guided tour with the “Istana Garden Walk” mobile app.

Chinese New Year at SAM

Chicken & Egg: A Fowl tale

Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Find out for yourself while exploring the origins of the chicken and it’s roles in civilisation, entertainment and even medical aid. To celebrate the year of the Rooster, the tenth animal in the zodiac sign, there will also be about 200 stamps dating from 1962 to the latest zodiac rooster stamps from Singapore and the Aland islands on display.
