Sunday Bedding Review: New store in Raffles City
This popular online homegrown bedding brand makes its official entrance into the local retail scene with its first physical flagship located on the second floor of the revamped Raffles City Shopping Centre
Launched in 2018, Sunday Bedding began as an idea for creating affordable yet high-quality bed linen between newlyweds Alex Fan and Clara Teo.
Back then, the couple operated out of their own home and a small warehouse.
Sunday Bedding was founded in 2018
“When we first started Sunday Bedding online four years ago, our mission was simply to make getting a good night’s sleep less complicated, and offer well-made, well priced sheets directly to our customers’ doorsteps,” Clara explains.
“We’ve come a long way and learned a lot from our customers since then, and we know that many want to touch, feel and test the products that they would potentially be spending nearly a third of their day in. With our physical spaces, we look forward to making deeper connections with our community, and hope that all who visit us will instantly feel at ease, just like being at home on a lazy Sunday.”

Sunday Bedding Store in Raffles City
The flagship store is an ode to apartments from all over the world, reflecting a crosspollination of design ideas from various cultures – from the woody minimalism and clean lines of Scandinavia, the functional thoughtfulness of Japan, to the textured brick walls and lush fabrics that add a sprinkle of New York’s big city luxe.
Hues of blue and walnut brown work together to create a sense of calm and grounded-ness.
The muted colours and friendly atmosphere makes for a cosy space.
Visitors will be introduced to three living spaces as they move through the store and interact with Sunday Bedding products: a bedroom, walkin wardrobe, and a kitchen. The bedroom features the brand’s popular bed sheets, and visitors can get a feel for the different materials to find their perfect combination of bedding. Newly launched designs for Sunday Bedding’s kids’ collection, Little Joys, featuring hand-drawn checkered prints and nature themed colours, will also be available for retail.
Try on sustainable loungewear made of French linen, bamboo sateen and chambray, as well as key collections from conscious fashion label Esse.
Conceived as an all-round lifestyle stop, the store also offers Sunday Bedding’s range of sustainable loungewear, as well as homeware and fragrance products from other artisanal cult brands.
Donate Old Bedsheets to Sunday Bedding
Drop off old bedsheets at the outlet’s recycle bin, where they can be processed into wiper materials and used for fibre reclamation.
Sunday Bedding starting their old bedsheets donation drive back in 2019 when they held a month-long pop-up store in Marina One. The initiative has since stuck and customers can now drop by Sunday Bedding's store to donate their old bedsheets anytime.
Benefits of Donating Old Bedsheets
You help reduce textile waste. A portion of the donated linens will be repurposed into industrial cloth in partnership with GreenSquare.
You are supporting Sunday Bedding's upcycling initiative. By supporting a sustainable brand, you are increasing demand and therefore making it easier for others to purchase eco-friendly products in the future.
You are decluttering. No need to think about what to do with your old bedsheets; Sunday Bedding will take care of that for you!
Co-founder Alex Fan shares, “We believe that textile brands should offer more than just lower price but understand its impact on the environment and what steps they can take to contribute to a more sustainable textiles economy.”
Are Bedsheets Sustainable or Eco-Friendly?
Not really. 90 per cent of textiles production in polyester and cotton. The cultivation of cotton alone requires 200,000 tonnes of pesticides and 8 million tonnes of fertilisers.
Sunday Bedding’s goal is to shift the consumer demand towards alternative fabrics such as bamboo and linen. Sunday Bedding’s factories have incorporated yearly sustainable management targets across electricity, oil, coal, carbon emissions and water.
Since 2017, they have reduced oil, coal and carbon emission by 7-8% every year, and electricity and water consumption by 10-14% yearly. The factories are STANDARD 100 by OEKO TEX certified, which means that no harmful chemicals have been used in the production of their textiles.
The Sunday Bedding flagship store is located at 252 North Bridge Road, Raffles City Shopping Centre, #03-39. You can also shop their collections online. Look out for their online-only sitewide annual sale from 18-20 August 2023.
