The lifestyle hotel located at 181 South Bridge Road, Singapore (formerly Capri by Fraser China Square) has officially closed its doors under its prior brand to prepare for a major overhaul.
YTL Hotels and a private fund managed by BlackRock have acquired the 304-room, 16-storey property, creating an opportunity to reposition the asset and bring the Hotel Stripes brand to Singapore for the first time.
The hotel transitioned to new management and officially began its transformation process on 1 October 2026.

Marriott International’s Autograph Collection
Under the partnership between YTL Hotels and BlackRock, the property will undergo a comprehensive redesign to emerge as an upper-upscale hotel under Marriott International’s Autograph Collection.
“Together with YTL Hotels, we see a compelling opportunity to transform a prime asset into an Autograph Collection hospitality offering for modern travellers. We aim to create a distinctive boutique hospitality experience in the heart of the city for the long term.”
Hotel Stripes from Kuala Lumpur
The launch of Hotel Stripes Singapore Chinatown draws directly from the established success of Hotel Stripes Kuala Lumpur, which captured the vibrant, urban grit and artistic pulse of Malaysia’s historic Heritage Row.
Positioned at the intersection of Singapore’s Central Business District (CBD) and historic Chinatown, the new hotel will blend urban edge with local heritage. Designed for modern, tech-driven global travellers, the property will reinterpret Chinatown’s rich architectural tapestry through a contemporary lens.

Hotel Stripes Singapore Chinatown will deliver exactly that, weaving Singapore’s unique cultural narrative into a cosmopolitan hotel experience that redefines the boutique landscape in the Lion City.”
By joining Marriott International’s Autograph Collection, the hotel will gain access to Marriott’s global distribution networks and the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, broadening its reach among international travellers who prioritize design, authenticity, and a strong sense of place.
Oakwood Premier Raffles Place
This joint venture marks the second major hospitality investment in Singapore for YTL Hotels and BlackRock in less than 18 months. In May 2025, the partnership acquired the 299-unit Citadines Raffles Place, which was subsequently rebranded as Oakwood Premier Raffles Place Singapore.
