HBA Architects collaborated with a heritage Italian wood furniture brand
The Kumiki dining chair and lounge armchair were inspired by an ancient interlocking Japanese woodworking technique.

HBA Product, the product design sibling brand of globally-renowned interior design giant HBA (Hirsch Bedner Associates), has officially launched “KUMIKI”. This is their latest furniture collection created in collaboration with prestigious Italian design house Giorgetti.
Unveiled during Milan Design Week 2026, KUMIKI represents the second major design collaboration between HBA and Giorgetti, building upon the shared success of their 2024 HIKARI collection.
In Singapore, Giorgetti collections are officially retailed and distributed through Space Furniture, the luxury furniture showroom located along Bencoolen Street:

HBA x Giorgetti: Kumiki 2026 Collection
Comprising both a lounge armchair and a dining chair, KUMIKI views form, structure, material, and execution as an interconnected ecosystem, allowing each piece to integrate effortlessly into residential and luxury hospitality spaces.
The collection takes its name (and structural inspiration) from Kumiki, the ancient Japanese woodworking technique that interlocks timber pieces without the use of nails, screws, or glue.
Built around a richly grained Canaletto walnut frame for indoor settings, every joint and connection in the collection is left visibly exposed. Construction becomes the primary aesthetic language: nothing is concealed, and every connection serves a pure, structural purpose.
For living room and outdoor living, the collection extends its disciplined approach into exterior environments. Solid teak replaces Canaletto walnut to withstand outdoor weather conditions, paired with corrosion-resistant stainless steel, quick-drain cushioning, and high-performance technical fabrics to ensure long-lasting durability without sacrificing elegance.
As high-end artisan pieces crafted in Italy with premium Canaletto walnut, teak, and luxury upholstery, prices reflect custom-order luxury tiers. The KUMIKI dining chair may cost you between $4,500 - S$7,500 per chair (depending on leather vs. fabric upholstery choices).
The KUMIKI lounge armchair may be priced between $8,500 - $14,000 (depending on indoor/ outdoor material configurations and custom textile selections). These prices are our guesses!
Architects and a Heritage Italian Furniture Brand
To appreciate the collection, one must look at the heritage behind the names.
HBA (Hirsch Bedner Associates) was founded in 1965 by Howard Hirsch and Michael Bedner, HBA is world-renowned for defining modern luxury hospitality design.
